An invocation that teaches you a spell that's already available to you... More useless than rope in this game

Oh... Mire the mind simply grants me the spell Slow and allows me to cast it with a warlock spellslot, so it's exactly the same as just learning the spell?
It seems to be that way.

I dont understand this.
When i look at what spells to pick on my warlock, i can chose Slow. On the spell it says it costs an action, and a lvl 3 warlock spell slot.
I also get to chose an eldritch invocation as i level up. If i pick Mire the mind, it says it allows me to cast Slow, with a warlock spell slot.
My question is:
Whats the benefits on picking the eldritch invocation Mire the mind, in exact detail?
In ressponse to the three anons prior, Slow is only a spell for Great Old One Warlocks, the invocation is the same as the spell but 2/3 subclasses can't learn the spell.
Whether Slow is good enough to warrant grabbing the invocation is another discussion.
