Experimental Alchemy is a Subclass Feature in Baldur's Gate 3Experimental Alchemy is a unique feature for Transmutation School wizards, that allows the creation of two alchemical solutions instead of one, if a medicine check is passed. Features provide unique abilities that are inherent to a Character's Race, Class, Background selected. These may vary greatly, from allowing you to equip certain Weapons or pieces of Armor with Proficiency, to add your Proficiency Bonus to certain Saving Throws.

      Just go multiclass on the halfling hireling (luck feat) so you have 2 levels of transmuter wizard, 1 level of rogue (any) and max wisdom and pick proficiency and expertise in medicine as well as get bowl's wisdom and guidance - No fails

        If you can spare the level 2 spell slot and the time, have someone cast Owl's Wisdom on you and craft all your potions at once. Advantage on the medicine check can help offset your likely-middling Wisdom as a wizard.

        This feature is immensely powerful, especially when doubling up on crafting stuff with very limited reagents (Think Ki-Rin Hair or Planetar Feathers). I'm loaded to the gills on Potions of Speed, Elixirs of Bloodlust and Battlemage, even Haste Spore Grenades and the Reprieve/Slumber potions.

        This is one of the best ways to trivialize tons of encounters.

          You'll have to either main class druid or cleric to specialize skill into medicine up to you if you want to level up the class. Put most of your stats into wisdom then go for transfiguration wizard lvl 2 at least. With 20 points into wisdom and specialized skill into medicine I have a +9 roll into medicine. Out of 17 potions I got an extra 15. I'm guessing the chance of passing is around 70%-75% maybe less. Should do this for one of your hirelings if you want more potions. If you find something that can increase your wisdom or medicine then give it to this guy whenever you need potions.

              wow two whole potions! thats like almost as useful as picking a sword of the ground and selling it to buy a potion.
