How to unlock War Priest
- War Priest can be acquired by:
- War Domain Level 1
War Priest Tips & Notes
- Using the extra attack is automatic. to save them end your turn after taking one attack action.
- At level 1 of War Domain, you gain 3 charges of this Feature per Long Rest. At level 5 of War Domain you gain another 1. At level 8 of War Domain you gain another 1, and at level 11 of War Domain you gain another 1 for a maximum of 6 charges per Long Rest.
- Note that non War Domain levels do not count towards Charges gained.
Another great one level dip for pretty much any class. Thief however is the best one since you get to have two bonus actions and therefore after using one charge you still have another bonus action for anything else.

Surprisingly works with Wild Shape. As long as you have charged and a bonus action available.

Use a bonus action before your attack if you want to use extra attack instead of a war priest charge.

This page has conflicting information. Under War Priest Information it says the number of charges is equal to your wisdom modifier, but in the tips and notes it says you have specific amounts at different levels.

Does it works if you mixed war cleric with a thief rogue lvl 3? Lvl 3 thief has 2 bonus actions, and war priest attacks are bonus actions, so you can potentialy regulary attack then use 2 bonus actions to attacks thanks to the war priest mecanic ?

I feel like this should definitely should recharge on a short rest but that's not how it works in DND 5e so I understand why they didn't. Coming from Solasta though where the equivalent is always on I cant help but be underwhelmed with a few extra swings between long rests.

Annoying issue if you use something that gives you an extra action, after attacking the game defaults to using the war priest charge instead of the regular action. Sometimes this makes it so the first attack in your turn is your bonus/war priest charge attack instead of your regular action attack, which is annoying if you were gonna kill an enemy and then reposition with a jump or something.
They should either just make the game always prioritize regular actions for an attack if available, or just make the war priest bonus attack a separate button altogether, similar to how Mobile Shot is.

Seems like it might be quite good if you get a level 5 martial too. Although it's similar to the barb's bonus attack.

Does this work for ranged attacks?
5xGloomstalker 3x Assa +1x War Cleric sounds awesome (+3x Battlemaster for another action that will crit)

So this sadly does not work the same as tabletop, your bonus attack charges are a fixed resource that doesn't scale with wisdom. Rather you get 3 charges at level one and additional charges at certain levels.

The number of War Priest charges listed here is wrong. It is sadly not "Cleric level +1", but WIS modifier + 1. This means you can't dump WIS for a melee focused Cleric and expect to use a lot of War Priest extra attacks.

Does this currently cost any resource? Is it endless bonus attack actions?

Was really hoping wearing Pyroquickness Hat and using searing smite would reward me with an extra bonus action that I could use on this. Unfortunetly it DOES reward the bonus action but DOES NOT allow it to be used on War Priest
