Tides of Chaos Tips & Notes
- Once per Short or Long Rest.
- Increases your chance of triggering a Wild Magic Surge from ~5% to ~45% when casting your next spell that uses a Spell Slot

I learned that you can continuously keep the wildmagic surge at 45% chance of triggering, even after you've used it once.
You only get the advantage boost once per short or long rest.

Trigger chance is almost correct. The actual calculations are:
Normal surge chance: Flat D20 Roll, no bonuses, DC 20, equaling a 5% chance.
Tides of Chaos surge chance: D20 + 9 Roll, DC 20. Thus effectively making the DC 11, equaling a 50% chance.

Does this give advantage on every roll of scorching ray or only the first roll?

its work on spells like hold person? or only on ur attack rolls?

You know a big part of the use of the increase in wild magic surges in 5e is that it's SUPPOSED to return your tides of chaos WHEN a surge happens. Once per short rest isn't cutting it.

You must drag the skill into your hotbar, and activate it for it to work. Then it recharges on a Short or Long rest.

This would've been amazing if it kept to the original and you were able to frequently use it but no it got nerfed to bits and now you get it once between each short or long rest :/ bit of an L
