Savage Attacks Tips & Notes
- Savage attacks only adds one of the weapons damage die, for example a great sword with 2d6 damage will only benefit from +1d6 bonus damage. So when a character with savage attacks critically hits with a great sword weapon, the damage will be 4d6 (2d6 + 1d6 critical + 1d6 savage attacks) not tripled (6d6) like the wording of the ability would suggest.
- Unlike critical hits, savage attacks does not increase the damage from non-weapon sources like sneak attack, smite, hunters mark, flaming weapon etc
- Note : it does not however affect unarmed strikes. It is linked entirely to weapon based attacks.

Currently it's a crap. Don't take orc for two-handed crit, add dmg is joke.

This half-orc trait does not work with throwing weapons. Currently as of patch #3

It doesn't work on off-hand weapons. Looks like a bug. Dual wielding half-orc will only get it if critting with main hand.

I have read but haven't confirmed that this works with the lvl 10 wild shapes, since they use weapons.

"Bug: The extra damage does not apply to critical strikes from off-hand weapon attacks. It is unknown if this is by design or a bug."
This info is likely outdated and the bug seems to have been fixed. My half-orc's off-hand crits with a versatile weapon hit for 2d8 dmg just as they should.

I say it should apply to unarmed attacks as well for monks, maybe druids

So I noticed that this is INCREDIBLY strong, though maybe a bug, especially on paladin.
Basically, this isn't limited to only a weapon's base damage, but every damage rolls that results from a crit weapon attack. This means a crit with the everburn blade adds 1d6 slashing damage AND 1d4 fire damage. If you add a paladin's smite to the crit, the smite will also get 1d8 radiant damage added.

Does anyone know the interaction with Savage Attack + Great Weapon Fighting Style?
- Anonymous
The formula is wrong. A Greatsword's base crit will be 4d6 because it doubles weapon dice. With Savage attacks it will be 5d6 instead with this game's logic.
