Wrath of the Storm Tips & Notes for BG 3
- In D&D5e you could use Wrath of the Storm a number of times equal to your Wisdom Modifier and regain all uses on Long Rest. Currently in BG3 there appears to be no such limitation on use.
- Can only be used when the Tempest Cleric is targeted within melee range.
- If this is not working for you, try Long Resting. This fixed the issue for me after I had respecced into Tempest Cleric.

Sucks that it only works when you get hit. I wish the tooltip was more clear.

I've noticed issues with this reaction triggering when it is expected to so I did some testing. Here are my findings:
- It only seems to trigger on melee weapon attacks. Other types of melee attacks don't trigger it at all, like warg bites or gnoll claws. I didn't test humanoid unarmed attacks.
- Unlike 5e, BG3's implementation of this reaction has unlimited uses. It is not tied to your wisdom modifier at all and there are no hidden "charges". Only one reaction per turn cycle still. I've used this reaction more times in a single combat than my clerics wisdom modifier.
My understanding of this reaction based on both 5e's description and BG3's in-game description is that this reaction should trigger when taking any type of attack from a hostile while they are within melee range of yourself, so this does indeed seem to be bugged at this time. Please correct me if I'm wrong or others have had conflicting experiences.

There is no limit (only 1 per turn as it is reaction). But it can be only used when you get hit, it doesn't trigger on misses.

Anyone have a fix for this not triggering? I tried disabling, saving game, loading back in, re-enabling, still nothing.

This is considered a reaction. You can only use 1 reaction per turn. Your reaction refreshes at the start of your next turn.
Appears to have a limit depending on your wisdom modifier. 16 wisdom mean 3 charges.
Be careful using this since using it takes your reaction so you yield opportunity strikes for that turn. Makes it so your character cannot "hold" a enemy in melee.
When & how often?
The way it is written it reads like you can do this unlimited amounts of times

It's written poorly ingame, I think the ability do lighting or thunder damage, half if the creature succeed a DEX Saving Throw.

Typos "halk" and "potencially" also on failed saving throw of a creature you deal only half of the damage?

Ive been bonk 100s of times and i never get to use wrath of the storms
For anybody wondering, a the DC for this reaction spell is 8 + (WIS mod) + (WIS proficiency). So a lvl9 16WIS cleric gets a DC of 8+3+4 = 15. Pretty respectable. The enemy has to do a DEX save against this DC. For those having issues with proc'ing, go to reactions menu menu and toggle thunder as auto, and lightning as "ask". It will still let you choose each time it procs but it seems to proc more consistently like this.
