If you are playing solo pick Horde Breaker. It's a blessing.
Yes, Slashing Flourish from Swords Bard is better, but Horde Breaker can be used unlimited times.
PS: You can use the skill even if it shows up grayish. I think that's just a visual bug.

This should have been like the astral knowledge of giths, you get to choose your fighting style until the next long rest. Considering hunter only gets this for offense until lvl 11 this feature shouldnt be situational and make you respec for specific encounters.

Colossus Slayer sounds good but it feels like another dry damage rider or dot. It tickles down every turn without triggering anything else just in case you were speculating (at least with my ingame tests). Very boring for a whole subclass. Probably Horde breaker makes more fun.

Collossus slayer sounds insanely good. it's just free damage every round with no action cost and no specific conditons. it's compatible against every enemy in the game that doesnt die in one hit.

just for case guys... you will get at lvl11 the volley and whirlwind attack which hit every creature in 3m radius... and and count as normal attack so have no reason to pick thehorde breaker which is more limited especially as a pure ranger!!! -_-
horde breaker is good if you not go up to lvl11 because can attack +1time! but eventually colossus slayer better for lvl11-12
