Kagha is an NPC and potential Boss in Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3). BG3 Kagha can be found at Druid Grove. She is willing to perform the Rite of Thorns in the Grove, closing it to Tieflings and leaving them. There is a massive amount of NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, and their ideals, needs and way of living are strictly related to the actions they perform during the course of the game. Their attitude towards you and your party may be affected by the deeds and decisions you and your party taken on.

BG3 Kagha Dialogue Options

First meeting at the Druid Grove

Kagha is first found angrily discussing with her fellow druid, Rath, about what to do with Arabella. A child Tiefling, Arabella, attempted to steal the Idol of Silvanus to prevent the Druids from performing the Rite of Thorns. The events of this interaction will also progress through the Save Arabella Quest.

  1. [NATURE] Don't druids cherish harmony? Jailing the girl disrupts nature's balance.
  2. [PESRUASION] Release her. I'll see that she stays out of trouble.
  3. [DETECT THOUGHTS] Read Kagha's mind
  4. Keep silent.
  5. Prepare to attack.
  • If you try to persuade Kagha to release Arabella, she will listen, which will please Rath. He will commend you for speaking up for the girl. Lae'zel will disapprove of this response, while Shadowheart, Wyll, Karlach and Gale will approve. If Arabella survives, you will be rewarded by her parents, Komira and Locke when you return to them and complete the quest: Save Arabella.
  • If you choose to keep silent or hint at Arabella to run, Arabella will attempt to run away, this will cause Kagha's snake to bite her, killing her in the process.

After this interaction, your journal for this quest will be updated. You can talk to her again. She also gives you a chance to state your opinion of her. If your character is a Drow, she will mention that a child of Lloth should understand.

  1. Only a monster would threaten a child.
  2. You're protecting your own - sometimes cruelty is required.
  3. Honestly, I just wanted to see what would happen.

Go with:

She tells you that the Idol of Silvanus is recovered, and the rite has resumed. She also praises you for your performance at the gate against the goblin horde, and suggests that you should act as a hired sword to help Zevlor guide his people out of the grove. Carry on the conversation and the journal for the Save the Refugees quest should update.

BG3 Kagha Second Interaction:

After talking to Zevlor if you return to her, you can tell her that he sent you to kill her, and start the battle.

If you follow up on the quest Investigate Kagha and confront her, there is a chance to persuade her. Should you succeed (two checks) then Kagha will see reason and assist you against the shadow druids instead.

  • Kagha acts as the leader of the Druid Grove while Halsin is not present. She cares about her people and points at the tieflings as the reason for what's going on at the Druid Grove.
  • Inside the Servant's Quarters sub-area inside the druids inner sanctum, you can find Kagha's Chest. Hide and wait for Marcoryl to look the other way before picking the lock (DC 10) and steal the contests. Note that the screenshot below is outdated, as of version 4.1.1 this chest is now flagged as restricted and taking from it is stealing. Inside you can find a half-torn note and Faldorn's Canticle: The Shadow Druid's Doctrine. Faldorn? Shadow Druids? If you played BG 1 and BG 2, you should be familiar with both of these and smell trouble ahead!
    enclave2 bg3 wiki guide
  • Read the note and be directed to the Swamp Docks. Travel to the sunlit wetlands and find the Message of Shadow Druids, you can confront Khaga and persuade her to fight them.

Second interaction Dialogue:

Olodan appears during your second interaction with Kagha after speaking with Zevlor. She tells you to tell Rath what is going on.

  1. Take this letter, Rath. It will explain everything
  2. Kagha's a Shdaow Druid. She means to convert the circle.
  3. Forget it, rat. You can explain it yourself.
  4. The Shadow Druids are taking over - the circle is overdue some change.

As Rath goes against their plans, Olodan wants him burned away. You can intervene.

    1. [PERSUASION] The shadows won't save you - they'll corrupt you. Stop this, while you can.
    2. [DETECT THOUGHTS] Probe Kagha's mind.
    3. Take the grove. - I won't stand in your way.

If you choose persuasion and succeed, Kagha will see the truth in your words. Astarion will disapprove of this response. This will convince Kagha to turn against Olodan. This will update the journal for  Investigate Kagha and will complete Kill Kagha. This interaction will be followed by a battle against Olodan.

You can speak to Kagha afterward to follow up on her thoughts.

I threw one of the "rats" at another "rat" and they all transformed and skeddaldled away. The fight against Kahga after confronting her was -very- short.

This does seem to break parts of the quest, as there are no longer Shadow Druids to actually kill.

      • Anonymous

Closest thing I've gotten to siding with Kagha is as follows:
Convince Teela to not kill a stupid tiefling child.
Execute the goblin leaders, but have Halsin die.
Find out about the Shadow druids, and report to Kagha that your fine work getting the tieflings out of the grove is done, and let her know you know about the Shadow druids, but don't fight her, just acknowledge it.
She tells you to get lost, but she's still archdruid, and there's no rite of thorns for the immediate future.

        • Anonymous

Would love to have further follow up for supporting the shadow druids, like allowing the rite of thorns to seal the grove & telling the olodan rat you know her true form. Perhaps getting some visit from them afterwards & getting invited to the shadow druid if one is a druid.

          • Anonymous

My character is a druid, when I confront her with the evidence of her betrayal and the appearance of the shadow druids, I recited the story told in murals of the area. She realised that she was wrong to follow the shadow druids. Her and the all the druids of the area joined me in the fight against the shadow druids.... it was a very short fight

            • Anonymous

I killed her AFTER saving Halsin and when the tieflings left the grove... and nothing... nothing happened at all. None of the other druids reacted, not even Haslin. I even brought her corpse ot haslin. Nothing. Everyone throws a fit if you kill her before that, but after no one cares?

              • Anonymous

I killed Kagha, then killed the goblins to free Halsin. Came back to the Grove and Halsin is confronting a living Kagha... What. Silver died for nothing?!

                • Anonymous

Cool bonus option here - if you've successfully passed the checks for all the frescoes in the room by interacting with the plaques before this conversation (it was many hours ago, but I believe they were religion checks), you get a bonus option for the dialogue: "(History DC 5): Recite the frescoes you have read. Instil her with pride in the grove's legacy."

                  • Pretty disappointed with her Shadow Druid questline, after finding the evidence of her corruption without her, it didn't really do much of anything. Even providing it directly to Halsin after completing his section had him brush it off and say it would be a waste to give up such a promising pupil!

Probably going to gut her later out of spite.

                    • I must say I'm supremely disappointed with her storyline, and with the treatment of tieflings in general around the druid grove. I was already kinda annoyed that I had absolutely 0 dialogue options to deal with the kid stealing that guy's mother's locket, and I was even forced to defend the thief.

But if you go down the path where Kagha's snake kills the kid, even after turning Kagha back from the shadow druids, getting her to help you defend the grove and then attone and be judged by Halsin, you're still forced to watch her get attacked by the girl's parents with poison and then a dagger to the throat, with absolutely 0 options to stand by her other than try to persuade the parent to not slit her throat (still hardcoded to poison her).

The worst part is that I can't even avoid further bloodshed as a paladin. If I persuade the mother to not murder Kagha, I break my oath for some reason. The moral compass of this game is just such a joke.
