      Fairly sure the book has no special function and that Ide can't actually read hence why he probably thought it was a book of spells. Probably just hoped it was something of use he could give to Roland to help make up for him saving the kids. Good kid.

        "The Way of The Wanderer" is the name of the book. You can convince Ide that you'll hand it to him but it will be a Deception check and you can't hand it over (at least after already having talked to him which I did).
        I find no useful info about the item anywhere or appropriate ways of dealing with it anywhere, I only found it may be a reference to a real book.
