Benryn is an NPC in Baldur's Gate 3. Benryn can be found at Waukeen's Rest in The Risen Road. He is trapped inside a burning tavern. There is a massive amount of NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, and their ideals, needs and way of living are strictly related to the actions they perform during the course of the game. When you first encounter Benryn, he is stuck under a wood beam in the burning tavern and he yells for help. You can pass a few checks to try to lift the burning wood beam and free him. He will head running to the safe room and find his wife dead. You will then have to find a dowry, you can find it in a barn next to the Zhentarim Hideout entrance.
