Elder Brithvar Dialogue Options

When first approached, Elder Brithvar is discussing with his associate Stone Guard Kur regarding how to free True Soul Nere and unpaid wages. Players can convince Elder Brithvar that they are not in Nere's side, this will lead Brithvar to propose a deal to bring the Drow down. If players accept, he will also ask them to first destroy the Scrying Eye that is moving through the Duergar camp.

Once Nere is freed, Brithvar will reclaim to the Drow the unpaid wages and players can make their final choice regarding the Duergar. Either to side with Nere or to side with Elder Brithvar and the rebels, by doing so, he and his crew will fight alongside you during this fight.

If you sided with him, and he survives, you can convince him to release the Deep Gnomes for the Save the Grymforge Gnomes quest. If he didn't survive, another Duergar will take his place regarding what to do with the Deep Gnomes.

Figured it out! I couldn't get -him- to trigger, kept telling me to leave. But! You talk to the Stone Guard Kur who he's talking to instead. That triggered the correct dialogue and then denied being a true soul.

If you get Brithvar on your side for the confrontation with Nere, but he dies during the fight, one of his colleagues still pays you and will discuss the fate of the gnomes.

Hilariously if you attack the Eye in front of him they attack you immediately and you can't bribe your way out of that conversation.

Depending on what dialogue choices you take when you first see him, you can bug yourself out of winning him over to your side. DON'T talk to him until you are ready to deal with Nere. It sucks because he is one of the first people you see once you leave the boat, so if you go and talk to him then you can possibly bug yourself out of making the Nere fight doable.
