- You can interrupt his ceremony and fight him alongside the entire room if you choose.
- If you opt to side with Gortash, he will accompany you to the Morphic Pool, however, he will be killed shortly after.
AnonymousSpoiler: if you fight him after disabling the steel watch, he will be in the top of the fortress. In the room you fight him in on the back wall there are two magnetic field generators. One is malfunctioning, don't destroy that one it as it will debuff Gortash. Destroy the functional one then he losses his resistance shield.

Here is how to solo kill Gortash unnoticed on tactician, immediately after the coronation; and leave with his body before anyone/anything becomes hostile.
PREP
A- [Darkness] (spell/racial/etc.) or [Fog Cloud]
B- [Blind Immunity] (Ring or Warlock passive)
OPTIONAL- If your damage isn't high enough, [Luck of The Far Realms] (Tadpole reaction) and [Paralyzing Critical] (Necklace) will paralyze Gortash, giving you a 2nd round of unnoticed attacks. [Backstab] and [Haste] goes a long way too
STRATEGY
1- Get [Behind] Gortash, and [Buff] yourself (Haste/elixir/etc.)
2- Cast [Darkness] or [Fog Cloud] directly Gortash. NOTE: If you cast too far out, the Steelwatch will become hostile.
3- Go into [Turn Based Mode] immediately after casting Darkness, or Gortash will walk away
4- [Save] the game so you can reload if you fail
5- [Attack] Gortash inside the darkness. If you land [Paralyzing Critical], you will get another turn to attack Gortash.
6- When Gortash [Dies], DO NOT LOOT his corpse
7- [Pick Up] Gortash's corpse
8- [Go to Camp] NOTE: If you do not go to camp immediately after you pick up Gortash's corpse, the Steelwatch will become hostile, and you will not be able to leave the area.
Dump Gortash's body on the ground and loot the remains. WARNING: This will break a bunch of quests.

Don't try to ally with him if you are a paladin or you will break your oath. Also, don't try to fight him during the ceremony. It is a suicide.
