Alfira Related Quests

  • The Urge - Alfira will visit the camp after some time. After encouraging her to stay, The Dark Urge will wake up covered in her blood and guts, having murdered her in her sleep.
  • You will have the following options:
    • 1. Wash the blood away with water
    • 2. [STEALTH] Try to hide the body
      • DC 12
    • 3. Prepare to face the others - you aren't going to hide.
      • If you choose this option, you will be able to explain the situation without fighting anyone
    • 4. Go back to sleep.

  • In Act 2, completing the quest Save the Tieflings and saving Lakrissa will have her rewarding you with the Potent Robe, 464 gold, scrolls of Haste, Cloudkill, and Barkskin, a Potion of Greater Healing, Arsonist's Oil, a Potion of Speed, an Acid Vial, and a Smokepowder Bomb. (Note: these rewards may be slightly random in what she gives and quantity, but you will always receive the robe and some gold.)

Alfira Dialogue Options

You can encourage Alfira to finish her song, and later invite her to your camp for a victory party (if you side with Tieflings.)
If you use Speak with Animals spell to talk to the squirrels in front of her, you will hear some funny comments.

Approach Alfira and she will be mid-song.

  1. Stay silent and listen
  2. What's that tune you're singing?
  3. How can I put this? That sounded a little unpolished.
  4. Leave.

Converse with her and you may have additional options:

  1. Let me see if I can help.
  2. That's the creative process for you. Agony and ecstasy. Mostly agony.
  3. Why are you songwriting now? Hardly the best time.
  4. You'd better swap that lute for a weapon. You'll need one, soon enough.
  5. Leave.

If you offer your assistance she will offer her second lute.

  1. First things first what's the song about?
  2. Hand me that lute. We can perform together.
  3. Leave

If you ask what the song is about, she will talk about her teacher. You can try to continue to inspire her encourage her to keep going from here and she will continue the song and a scene will play. You can choose to skip at any time.

Telling her to hand you the lute allows you the option to perform with her, triggering two performance checks: one with a DC 15 followed by a DC 10. Passing both checks grants the character performing proficiency in Musical Instruments. (Note: this does not give you proficiency in the Performance skill, but does allow you to attract a crowd by playing an instrument or whistling.) Doing so grants you a legendary lute, but you do not get the cutscene of her performing the finished song.

Alfira Notes and Tips

  • If you wish to spare her reliably from the Dark Urge's killer instinct, simply walk across the bridge leading to the Blighted Village from the Emerald Grove Environs Waypoint then return to the Druid Camp and knock her out with nonlethal damage. Long resting after this should trigger the camp scene with her replaced by a silver dragonborn bard.

warning for those wanting to save alfrida as dark urge

once you save halsin and the teiflings leave the emerald groove, aldrida seems to not be on the map anymore, she is now destined to die, at least not without loosing loads of progess

There is a massive amount of NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, and their ideals, needs and way of living are strictly related to the actions they perform during the course of the game. ...What is the point of this paragraph??

            • Anonymous

The Dark Urge outcome seems to always be the same: One Bard Dies.
              1. You can go sleep in the camp as normal and later on it seems that Dark Urge killed Alfira.
              2. You can kill Dark Urge character at the camp and then go to sleep. Alfira is still found dead, but this time at least we know that "it was the butler".
              3. You can make Alfira unconscious (drop her HP to 1 by hiting her) at Druid Grove. Then different bard appears at the camp. Alfira survives, but it does not seem she plays any important role in act 2, so it does not matter much.

Either way, it all seems that it is the "evil butler" that does all this killing stuff and not the Dark Urge character. The "default" story in which Alfira dies seems to be the one that makes the most sense [plot wise and makes Dark Urge even more interesting as we all are lead to believe that he/she is the murderer, but in reality (since it happened off-screen) it was the "evil butler"

Alfira is indeed a hidden Wealthy Lady. Her reward for completing mission "rescue the tiefling": a very rare robe for Charisma user, 647 gold, spell scores, Superior healing potions,...
Tip: Do her mission before interact with the Night Song, cuz if u release Night Song (or accidently do it), the mission is cancelled.

I can't find this anywhere, but it seems that passing the performance checks in Act 1 with her will grant your character Musical INstrument proficiency even if they don't have it from Bard class/ feats

                  • Anonymous

as one can claim to have killed her in front of everyone to sceleritas fel, i tried killing her in camp (shot in the back when she was running away as instructed) but the game then still treats it as tho she got away and i failed to kill her.
is there a way to kill her truly in front of everyone and the butler recognizing it as such?

                    • Oh no. I guess she died off camera in my Last Light Inn fight and I'm like 2 hours past that point currently (Literally the only person to take a hit or something). I guess she's gonna stay dead :(

Apparently you can meet her in Moonrise, but does she have any Act 3 appearances I should know about? TIA

                      • Anonymous

When withers ask about her on your DU game dont worry talking about it only makes him make a remark but he wont do the thing mentioned.

Why is there so little or close to no info on Alfira?
Not even on Reddit, and the AI blog posts are even worse. "All Alfira encounters" it says and it's just act 1 LOL
You have interactions with her at Light's Hope (several, depending on progress) and you have it at Moonrise, you even have an own unique interaction (which is quite wholesome and lightening and well timed - especially after seeing the simple but god damn heavy hitting note on a certain body) if you're a bard. I have not tested with feat. yet, the problem is that at this point (after [REDACTED]) you can not respec at Withers because he's not in camp (you have to wait until night time which means a long rest before speaking to Alfira)

as an old Baldurs 1 and 2 player I couldn't settle with anything less than Urge as my first character, paladin/selunite (to romance Grimm the hard way..) and I am not dissapointed: Alifras death wages heavilly upon my puppet's soul and gives him the I- am-a-monster realisation, from her unavoidable death does his path to salvation begins, R.I.P. Alfira

maybe add that its possibel to show one of the squirels over the cliff to get achivement (do it before interacting with them) if you throwing one of them it will impact negatively on Alfira and if you havent interactid before the throw, then its now no longer possibel. thats why showing is better.

Everybody be commenting about act 1. Well, I just had *that* fight at the Inn. Sadly I couldn't save the Selune priest who got kidnapped and a second fight ensued. After saving the tieflings from Moonrise, she has her dialogue then says "It's a sad day to be giving this, but here." only for the cutscene to end with nothing given. Can't find anything about it online either.

Everyone in this comment section saying "You signed up for murder, then got murder, what do you expect? Stop crying" needs to go frack themselves with a rake that the "evil" dark urge would be proud of. I signed up for FIGHTING AGAINST THE DARKNESS INSIDE A CHARACTER, TO DO MY DAMNDEST AT SUCCEEDING IN PREVENTING MURDER AND EVIL TENDENCIES, AS LARIAN ADVERTISED AS ONE OF THE PATHS FOR THE DARK URGE. So kindly, again, gfy.

To everyone asking if you can get some sort of robe from her in act 2. Look in the "Dragon's Lair" where the kids are hiding, at some point after talking to her she will move down there and she will be singing to the kids. I have not progressed to act 2 yet after raiding the Grove, but I can't find her so I would assume she goes to the Last Light Inn in the Shadow Cursed Lands. If you skip the Grove and Goblin fight her and the rest of the teiflings will be dead along the road to Blighted Village. The idea is that all the teiflings were kicked out of the Grove by the Druids after the Rite of Thorns was finished because Kahga is working with the Shadow Druids. I'm not sure if she dies along that road if you invade the grove with the goblins, but I do know her and the kids disappear from that location after the goblin celebration. I will add more info when I discover it

Is it possible to get the Potent Robe (I normally got it from Alfira in Act II) if you attack the tieflings' together with the goblins?

                                          • Anonymous

I experimented with a few options on my Dark Urge Devotion Paladin. You lose your Oath if you tell the rest of the party the next morning and everyone but Astarion loses affinity. If your Long Rest conincides with Scratch the Dog showing up the next morning for the first time you will be attacked and will be forced to kill scratch. Washing your hands will get the group off your trail but the Stealth Skill Check Option is the best one as it removes all consequences and Scratch will not aggro you.

As others say knocking out Alfira with Non-Lethal damage toggled on prior to the event will replace her with a very entertaining Dragonborn Bard named Quil Grootslang. I find I liked her just as much if not more than Alfira

theres no way to encounter her again if you sided with the drow/goblins and attacked the grove, right? havent seen her corpse anywhere

                                              • Anonymous

So, I talked wit hher, helped her with the song, without taking an instrument, she thanked me, and now she's gone. Don't know where she is.

NPCs really tend to vanish for me.... even Volo is gone, even though I saved him from the goblin camp and even had an interaction with him in my camp. But when I wanted to check with him again several hours later, he wasn#t there anymore....

I don't have the game but I was wondering, after you wake up from the urge can you use the spell to ask questions to the corpse?

                                                  • Anonymous

I'm not sure if I'm going to get this cutscene at all. I was too nice to Alfira (narrator called me out) and then went on to start a war between the druids and Tieflings. Now Alfira's dead along with most of the rest of them. I've taken 3 or 4 long rests since then, but just triggered Astarion's cutscene. Am I just SOL?

                                                    • Anonymous

If you kill Alfira outside of the DU interaction, a silver dragonborn bard lady will show up, and the interaction will play out with her instead.

                                                      • Anonymous

So if you help her perfect the song by encouraging her with kind words then you cannot get her in your camp ? Well what a shame, far too late into ACT 1 to remedy this myself.

I didn't go with the flute option since my character had no proficiencies in playing instruments, so i was expecting that to be a bad decision to go for.

                                                        • Anonymous

When does Alfira spawn? I've done 2 playthroughs and she's wasn't there until after I cleared the goblins? I just want her to teach me to play instruments for free.

                                                          • Anonymous

I accepted Alfira and did everything written here. Knocked her out with non-lethal then went to sleep. Killed my dark urge completely then went to sleep. But the morning she was dead even tho Dark Urge was lying dead on the floor.

You can find her in Act 2 at the Harper camp, unfortunately she gets murdered by the devils that invade. Not sure if theres a way to save her

Seems to give Musical Instrument Proficiency if you help her perfect the song and take the lute from her and play along with her and pass both the performance checks.

                                                                  • Anonymous

You can save her as dark urge by asking her to leave and killing/having other character kill dark urge and then reviving next morning. The game even has dialogue from the butler that shows up later referring to how you didn't kill her.

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                          • Anonymous

I suggest people pick the one where you help her play because you get an orange level lute and your character will know how to play instrument. Sure you won't see the cinematic performance and there will be no bonus

                                                                            • Anonymous

If you ask for the lute first to help her (and take it), you will get two performance rolls to play along with her - a 15 DC and then a 10 DC. If you make both rolls, she still plays her song, but you don't get the beautiful studio recording version, just her playing acoustically. BUT, she gives you her teacher's lute afterwards, which you can use to play three songs (not sure what they're worth, don't seem to give any immediate buffs as a non-bard).
