If you let Kar'niss escort you all the way to Moonrise Towers, he'll be on the top floor of the tower afterwards. You can still get his moon lantern from him there, though obviously it's very hard to do without aggroing the whole tower. I was able to do it by luring him down near the door with Perform, and then casting Command: Drop on him as he walked away, which somehow didn't aggro him. Unfortunately, you apparently can't get the pixie blessing from it if you've already finished the moon lantern quest by finding a different one.

I met a group of the cultists before this fight. They said they were waiting for a True Soul, but i don’t know how to get to the Moonrise tower so they were pretty perplexed by that. They asked for my objective and i replied ‘to wipe out the cultists’.

It turned out they were waiting for this guy, and during my playthrough, he was all alone during the ambush….

All I can say is that this guy has a great voice actor.. excellent animations/mocap too.. i felt so incredible bad for taking his lantern and making him walk into the darkness.. he was so sad/heartbroken but he did it for his faith.

What if I killed the escort squad when I entered the zone, before Kar'niss could arrive?

Just persuaded him to give me his lantern and go away. Later meet him with in company with other shadow cursed boyz in the city zone.

Alright clearly no one has exploited the Command(Drop) Spell enough. I used it on him and he dropped both his sword and Lantern, problem was picking it up. I was lv 7 at this point in the game so I casted Greater Invis to pick up the sword cuz its considered stealing, but the lantern is fair game. The sword is neat: does 1d10(Slash)+1d6(Psychic)+1d4(Poison) if your drow elf. The Lantern has some sort of Fairy in it, free her and she gives u a bell that calls her to give you protection against the shadow curse. Only problem with the bell is losing it in my inventory cuz its a common item

I intimidated him to give me his lantern and he walked off - but disappeared. I can't find him anywhere. I searched where people said to here...he's just gone.

I made the mistake of staying hidden when he and his party passed by and now I can't find him again to obtain the working Moon Lantern. Does anyone know a fix to this?

I stayed with him all the way to the moonrise towers, now i cannot get the pixie quest. Anyone know where to find him if he bring you all the way to to towers?

His loot is bugged when you have the Broken Moon Lantern (https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Broken+Moonlantern) on you. His Lantern will turn into a broken Moon Lantern as well if you're looting it from his dead body. I don't know how it interacts with stealing. Sending the Broken Moon Lantern to Camp before helped resolve this
