Infernal Smithing

After you've completed the second part of Karlach's quest, The Hellion's Heart, where you finally cool her down, Dammon can make use of any extra Infernal Iron you have in your inventory.  You'll see a unique dialogue option when you speak with him at Last Light Inn: "I think I found a material you could work with.  What can you make of it?"  After using this prompt he'll craft you one of a number of items including: Flawed Helldusk Armor, Flawed Helldusk Helmet, and Flawed Helldusk Gloves, each consuming a single Infernal Iron. If you have the Infernal Alloy from the Dwarf in Grymeforge, though, he can make all three pieces of the Flawed Helldusk set by repeatedly using the "I found this metal in Grymeforge" option.

Dammon Dialogue Options

If you approach him with Karlach, this will be a chance to improve your approval. This also advances The Hellion's Heart. Eventually Karlach will say

Karlach: hey soldier - I think we picked up some of that infernal iron already. What say you - should I give it to him?

  1. Absolutely - let's see what he can do.
  2. I'm not sure. Should we be tampering with an infernal machine?
  3. We'll keep our eyes open for some iron.
  4. Personally, I'd like to know what infernal iron is worth.
  5. Could we see your wares?
  6. Leave.

If you agree with her, Karlach will approve. The Hellion's Heart will be updated after your interaction.

Dammon Merchant Wares

Not all items will be sold at the same time. Leveling up or completing a Long Rest will reset the shop and potentially show different items. Unique items will not refresh if previously purchased.

Dammon Notes and Tips

  • DO NOT pickpocket him at Last Light Inn in Act 2! As soon as he notices that he's been robbed, he'll run off and despawn, never to return. I was able to pickpocket him just fine in Act 1, though, so this is likely a bug in v4.1.1.

Maybe an edit should be made that it’s possible to pickpocket him in act 2 if in turn based mods then pickpocketing then leaving to camp immediately after.

There's a bug where if you give Dammon the iron pieces for the Helldusk armor immediately after fixing Karlach at Lost Light in act 2 you can get the armor without spending infernal iron.

        • Anonymous

Might be an insane question but does ANYONE know what Damnon’s eye colour is and if it’s available in-game? Looks blue with glowing, gold rings but I’ve looked through all the eye options and can’t find it anywhere. It’s making me feel crazy.

          • Anonymous

so what about the armor he crafts from strange metal? i wanted to know how many peices there are? so far he crafter a helmet, heavy armor, gloves of the Flawed Helldusk... is there a full set? what metal does he need to finish it?>

The newest update to the game for the mirror GAVE me a bug where the ox goes rouge on its own and kills as many NPC's as possible as soon as I zone in. WHAT?

              • Anonymous

As of patch #4, killing the Ox in act 1 no longer prevents Dammon from appearing in act 2 (if someone can correct that)

                • Anonymous

In act 2 he walked out of his smithing area and right into the curse. Didn't notice till HOURS later, when I found him, he was a zombie. #*$% Wish there was a save editor or I could resurrect NPCs. I'm not going back but this messes things up a bit.

                  • Anonymous

In act 2, if you find out the strange ox's real nature, he and all the harpists nearby will join the fight.
If you let the cleric at the Inn get kidnapped, the shield will fall and he'll become a shade, giving you no options other than killing him.
I don't know how this will affect Karlach 's quest though...

Is just me the guy doesn't give me anything even though I gave him a piece of infernal Iron?
He's in lower city at act 3.

                      • Anonymous

Utter BS. I attacked Karagh the druid like Zevlor asked. After that fight, I exit the room to see Dammon already dead. There was no way to save him and I didn't rest between these encounters.

                        • Anonymous

Fun fact, if you Pickpocket him in act 2 he'll never talk to you again, regardless of if you get caught. Clicking on him triggers no interaction, this doesnt gonsway from what I've read =(

                          • Anonymous

found a bug in act 3 where I can hand him infernal materials and he takes them just fine, and then turns around pretending to smith them but doesn't actually make anything.

If you are a ranger and have a bear, people will run away in fear. So did Dammon. Into the shadows. And died. RIP several hours of gameplay.

It's not listed, but I was able to purchase a Maul +1 from Dammon the first time I encountered him in the Druid Grove. Maybe someone can add it to the list?

You can trade some metal you found in the underway and he will fix you a heavhy armor with matching helm and gloves. Don't think I had enough for legs.

I'm really irritated killing that ox, of all things, causes him to disappear from Act 2. I've only just started Act 3, hopefully my playthrough isn't ruined as I've been with Karlach this whole time.

                                    • Anonymous

He does not spawn in act 2 if you killed that damned ox in act one...
Need the npc code so I can spawn him at the inn using cheat engine.

Does anyone have a list of things he needs to craft stuff, what he crafts in return of said stuff, and how many is needed, etc?

You can find Dammon in the Last Light Inn (in the shadow lands) if you don't complete the quest in the druid grove

                                          • Anonymous

can i still progress karlach's quest and fix her engine after killing dammon? He has become on of the shadows
