Nyrulna is one of the Legendary Weapons in Baldur's Gate 3. In BG3, each type of weapon has different ranges, damages, and other features (Finesse, Versatile, Dippable, etc.). Characters need to master certain Proficiency before using a weapon, and sometimes gain special Actions while holding it.
The forgemaster Lirrico designed this weapon for the champion of the wind goddess Akadi. A key component in the forging was his home city's wind, and for a year after the weapon was made, no wind blew there at all.

Make sure you have a back-up throwing weapon in your inventory like Dwarven Thrower. The Thunder damage is Aoe and doesn’t discriminate between friend or foe

This weapon doesnt make any sound on impact its so unsatisfying :(

This weapon in the hands of an EK with 3 attacks, with the correct gloves and rings, ensures destruction.
But to make the game not too easy, I put in my paladin-LoreBard 6/6 which gave me an incredible gaming experience.
Devastating throwing attacks, destructive melee smite attacks, spirit guardians, skill expertise for RP. Best character I've ever played with.

you can just buy the ring via trading too, instead of stealing it

Omg I put this on minathra pally with AC23 and shield plus the warp on throw gloves lmao. This pally is thunderblasting everything and teleporting everywhere, multiple times per turn. Pure roflstomp. Unstoppable.

The weapon glow actually qualifies it for the extra damage from callous glow ring.

You know you want to do it with Tempest for the knockbaxk lolz ... do it.

You can throw weapons directly from your inventory, and UNequpping a weapon does not cost an action. Therefor you can have ALL your party members throw Nyrulna on their turn if you want.

i dont know why... but i think this weapon has a hidden dmg bonus... once per turn it can deliver 3d6 extra dmg from throw (piercing dmg, not the 3d4 thunder). Or this 3d6 dmg came from another thing? I'm using it with a multiclass barbarian (lvl 5 barbarian in the multiclass) plus furious thrown and always the first thrown gets this extra 3d6 buff dmg.

Bug? Threw this at a Steel Watcher right as it began its Detonation, and the weapon started to detonate aswell. Dropped it, a turn later it lost the detonation status, but still had the circle. Its had that for a while now. So maybe dont throw it at them on your games if you wana avoid that.

Pretty fun with lvl 6 Tempest Cleric bonus effect. Extra damage and aoe knock-back every throw gives you insane crowd control by pushing enemies multiple times per throw

Pure fighter and by level 11 you have 3 throws, with haste and action surge up to 9 in the first round, add tavern brawler, sharpshooter and the usual suspects for equipment and you delete everything from the game. This thing even allows you to wear a shield and with heavy armor + 16 con you become quite tanky too, pretty broken

Barbarian (Berserker) 5+ / Rogue (Thief) 3+ gets four attacks per turn with this weapon; extra attack for two throws, and then two bonus action Enraged Throws. Absolutely melts enemies, and can stack with Tavern Brawler (which might even add your Strength to the explosion damage, too, but I wouldn't rely on that not being patched out).

You can initiate a trade and buy the ring from the djinn if you aren't into stealing.

Tried using speedy lightfeet with this to check if Zephyr Strike is considered a "similar action" to a Dash... it isn't... would love to know what they consider to be similar then

Probably a bug. But I noticed that throwing the trident gives you more movement speed.
Couldn't reach a guy so I threw the trident. I then saw that I could suddenly reach them after the throw.
I think it's because equipping the trident gives you +3m movement. Throwing it and returning due to its feature also "equips" the trident without actually unequipping it. So you get 3 more meters per throw

It's annoying that when thrown all its associated attacks and skills are removed from the custom toolbar.

This weapon is BIS for Karlach if you get the Tavern Brawler feat. It doubles her STR modifiers on accuracy AND damage for unarmed, thrown, and improvised weapon attacks. Using that feat, that bonus Thunder damage becomes extra juicy, and the fact that it hits everything in a 6 meter radius is just icing on the cake. I fully plan to make FULL use of that build ASAP and scoring this will commence the most epic of beatdowns lol

You don't have to pickpocket. I used my Bard to distract him while the wheel was spinning.
A word of advice: the AoE is deceptively big, bigger than you'd expect. This means you're likely to hit both your party members (mind the concentration spells, especially Haste) and neutral NPCs that might just decide to attack you as soon as the fight is over. This happened a couple times to me before I realized why, and locked me out of some quest rewards because of it. Honour Mode enjoyers beware.
