The Dead Shot is one of the Longbow Weapons in Baldur's Gate 3. In BG3, each type of weapon has different ranges, damages, and other features (Finesse, Versatile, Dippable, etc.). Characters need to master certain Proficiency before using a weapon, and sometimes gain special Actions while holding it.
When the archer Frederik Durlusk died, his only request was to be buried with his favourite bow. This is that bow.

The Dead Shot Notes & Tips for BG3
- Keen Attack's double proficiency bonus affects only chance to hit, not damage.
- The Improved Critical effect works with any attack including melee and spells, making this an excellent bow even on a character who does not use ranged attacks.

Get ASI at level 4 and put both points into dex, with auntie ethel's hair that gives you 20 DEX at level 4. Up it to 22 with the mirror of loss.
Sharpshooter at level 9 with the 4th level of rogue.
Enjoy your 108 hp 24 AC archer who crits on 14 monster with action surge. I purged most of the Raphael fight with 4 multi target arrows

really good for Mortal reminder (The great old one) Warlocks. You can easily get any attack roll 16 and up to crit. Combine that with advantage and 3 eldritch blast attack roll per round and you can pretty much garantee at least 1 crit per round

Best bow in the game. Combine with Sharpshooter and various assorted buffs (Helldusk Gloves, Strange Conduit Ring, Caustic Band) and you can out damage Great Weapon Master Fighters. At range, even.
Swords Bard gets insane with this - Swords Bard can make FOUR attacks via Slashing Flourish (Ranged) per action, dealing 1d8 (Longbow) + Dex (typically 3-5) + 2 (Weapon Enchantment) + 1d4 (Strange Conduit Ring) + 2 (Caustic Band) + 1d6 (Helldusk Gloves) + 1d10 (Slashing Flourish) + 10 (Sharpshooter). Average 34 damage per hit.
Also remember, you can still autocrit Paralyzed targets with ranged weapons if you walk up into melee range with them. Combo with Hold Person/Hold Monster to burn straight through the high HP enemies in the endgame.
Oh, and pick Elf for free Longbow proficiency on any class.

Does this also double damage from proficiency or just the attack roll?
