Hamarhraft is one of the Mauls Weapons in Baldur's Gate 3. In BG3, each type of weapon has different ranges, damages, and other features (Finesse, Versatile, Dippable, etc). Characters need to master certain Proficiency before using a weapon, and sometimes gain a special Actions while holding it.
The dwarven grammar is garbled, but the weapon's name suggests something about the importance of first impressions.
Hamarhraft Information
Shockwave: When the wearer jumps, they deal 1d4 Thunder damage in a 3m radius upon landing.
Main Hand Only
Tenacity: When you miss an attack, you deal (STR MOD) Bludgeoning damage anyway.

Hamarhraft Location & Where to Find
- Location: The Risen Road. Waukeen's Rest, inside a Gilded Chest in the upstairs smoldering room, adjacent to the room with Benryn.
Hamarhraft Notes & Tips
- The Gilded Chest the Hamarhraft is located in is locked and must be lockpicked with a skill check of 20 or higher. If the Hamarhraft is not acquired before the next long rest, the Gilded Chest will be broken and the items inside will be left on the ground where the chest was.
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Value: 65 Gp.
- Weight: 4.5 Kg.
- ID: ??
I got to town then did a full rest and realized nobody was banging on the door of the burning house. Finally went in and Benryn was a burnt corpse didn't realize I failed a mission I didn't even start but went into the adjacent room there's no guilded chest and nothing on the ground, no weapon there's only a wooden chest in the middle of the room that I lock picked and had random items in it but no weapon. Scanned the whole room! WHERE'S MY Hamarhraft!! Bugged maybe?

Does not proc reverberation from Gloves of Belligerent skies.

This works with Eagle Heart's Diving Strike, so go out and channel your inner viking

Monk's Step of the Wind to jump as you wish (and double your movement speed), Hamarhraft to deal thunder damage on jumping, Gloves of Belligerent Skies to inflict reverberation and Ring of Spiteful Thunder to daze on reverberated enemies. Simply jump around and apply enormous amount of debuff in turn 1.
Doesn't deal much damage but is a huge source of CC. Can even get through the very end of the game if you have someone else to deal damage.
For multiclassing, dip 1 into barbarian for adding CON into AC if you want to use the unarmoured movement of monk to jump even more and be tank at the same time. Dip 3 if you want to rage as bear to get resistance or elk for more jumps. Get 6 lvls in tempest cleric might also be good for the repulsion, but I just find it annoying in some circumstances.
Other equips that could be useful: anything that makes you ignore difficult terrain, anything that adds AC, moondrop pendant to jump in and out enemies more safely.

I just went back to Waukeens rest after several long rests, and the chest was destroyed but the hammer was on the ground by it. This was after patch#3 and hotfix#7. So maybe it changed in an update or something

Does this trigger any damage riders like Hex or Lightning Charges?

Storm Sorcerers' Tempestuous Flight triggers this where you land

With the Sprinstep Boots & Crusher's Ring, my 3 Barb / 2 Monk Karlach was able to jump 15 times. That translate to 15-60 damage, while also getting to swing with the weapon itself for more damage
This hammer + Level 2 Monk Jumps is very potent damage early on, falls off during act 2, but really strong in Act 1

Got told this hammer exists, but the chest was already destroyed. I'd stumbled across Waukeen's Rest during my initial exploration, and decided to come back to it later.
Seems like talking to Fist Recruit Ephren is enough to open the long-rest-destruction window that the notes mentioned.
Mildly annoying given casually smashing Olympic long jump records is my favourite form of in-combat movement.

A good way to acquire it is to pick up the chest itself with a high strength character then open later when its safer

Is there any way to obtain it after the chest gets destroyed? I long tested after getting to Wakeen’s Rest a long time ago and only now realized that this item exists.

They should've made this weapon into Ashideena from the original Baldur's Gate - it's already a gold warhammer that does electricity damage and still has the appropriate silhouette for it.
It would've been a cool callback

You can jump through the window into the burning room with misty step or something similar if you get on the house outside the burning building. It lets you grab this chest on the first turn of the turn-based phase.

It is inside a gilded chest in the room on fire on the second floor with the door that will blow when open, on the wall opposite to the door looking from the door it's on the right on the edge of the room.
Does this work with Bonespike boots?
