Flail of Ages is one of the Flail Weapons in Baldur's Gate 3. Flail of Ages is a powerful flail that on top of being enchanted deals three types of elemental damage and inflicts their corresponding condition on enemies. In BG3, each type of weapon has different ranges, damages, and other features (Finesse, Versatile, Dippable, etc.). Characters need to master certain Proficiency before using a weapon, and sometimes gain special Actions while holding it.
Created by a warmongering rakshasa and kept for a time under the careful watch of an astute noble named Lord de'Arnise, this flail is a tool of absolute destruction, and a versatile one at that.

This weapon is bugged and it seems like if you dual wield this weapon with the dual wield feat, it always applies the buff to the main hand weapon. The buff remains even after you unequip it.

seems like this was some more dropped content since the elemental age spell has both electrical and thunder symbols included in the picture

I'm less bothered by the bad stats and more bothered that they made it look like a completely generic flail instead of the "thresher" flail heads the original used.
They could have literally named this anything else and nobody would notice a connection. I hereby dub thee the Fail of Ages

Found some interesting behavior: When I set the weapon to do Cold damage it applied Acid instead bc I have the ring that adds 2 Acid damage to my weapons, however sometimes I could still Chill the enemy (unsure if you can apply both in the same attack)
Guessing the infernal gloves that add fire to your attacks may be able to burn, so maybe you could apply all 3 at the same time? Though it could be an order of how you equip and buff yourself since I was getting Acid most of the time over Chilled

the BG2 version is stronger, sure, but it still is quite strong as it is one of the easiest ways to proc status effects.
Can be funny to dual wield it with the dragon grasp (1handed ax dealing +1d4 dmges on burning targets).

it kinda feels like they nerfed most of the "legacy" items compared to newer, more powerful BG3 originals

This weapon deserves so much better - it was such an iconic weapon in the original saga!

Oh they did my boi so dirty. This was the absolute GOAT weapon from BG2
If you Dual Wield this weapon and have this weapon on the OFF hand the buff will apply to the MAIN HAND, making this work like drake Throat Glaive, you can't use a Sorcerer's twin spell to buff 2 weapons.
