Adamantine Longsword Notes & Tips

- This weapon is excellent against enemies that have Slashing Resistance. However, you cannot make all Adamantine items at the Grymforge, and the Armour is arguably better overall.
- If dual-wielding with another weapon, both weapons will ignore Slashing Resistance, regardless which hand holds which weapon. Even if player is not Proficient with the Longswords.

This and the Mace are such traps compared to the armor sets and especially the shield.

not sure if bug or oversight, but if dual-wielding with another weapon, both weapons will ignore slash resistance, regardless which hand hold which weapon. even if player is not proficient with the adamantine sword... good for boss killing i guess.

Useful to have but not good to "main" the weapon, reason being that there are many better pure melee weapons
HOWEVER, your melee damage dealer can fall off a cliff in certain fights late act 2 and beyond bc a lot of enemies will have Slashing/Piercing resist and some with 2x resists (i.e. a certain foundry in Act 3, enemies that rage, any constructs, undead warded enemies, etc)
If your melee based char doesn't have ways to get around these resistances the adamantine weapons can be pretty useful to pull out for certain enemy types

If you plan on using this as a literal "wall destroyer", it won't work as the walls nullifies slashing attacks. You're best to use the mace for that purpose.

What is the true purpose of the diamondsbane??? :S objects? for What? chests? you can lockpick or even destroy them...
- Anonymous
Ignores Slashing "Resistance"
Walls and Some objects are "Immune"
two different status's
- Anonymous
A wall (That's an object, right?) that has 100% slashing immunity is still immune to this weapon for some reason, maybe will be patched in the future

so there is actually no point making weapon, because you only crit on "object" aka doors and crates. Craft the two armor they are much better
- Anonymous
Weird they'd put in two slashing weapons for the Adamantine weapons. You'd think they'd have a spear/pike instead of this or the scimitar for the ignore piercing resistance option.

how does this not destroy nere's boulder i dont get it. is it a bug? i see the dmg rolls over 22 bypassing the medium toughness but it says the rubble is resistant to slash damage therefore nullifying it completely BUT DOES THE WEAPON NOT IGNORE SLASH RESISTANCE!!?!?!? I DONT GET IT!! AAAAAAAAAA ITS A BUG SURELY ITS A BUG

Should have been named "The Lockpick", this will be my designated door and chest opener for my no-rogue party.

Really not worth making considering you can find phalar aluve in the underdark as well. The armors are too good
- Anonymous
As the adamantine weapons are right now, they are not worth the ore. its current stats are simply not good enough. craft medium and heavy armor instead, you are going to use them for quite a while.

Are there any "on critical" effect triggers that could make use of this?
- Anonymous
maybe with the great old one, mortal reminder passive. You could hit a chair and scare a bunch of enemies? Otherwise i don't really get it.
- Anonymous
The longsword does not have Versatile Hitter. Diamondsbane only causes auto crit on objects (ie. doors and such). Haven't hit a construct with it yet to see if it works on them.

so theoritically...
feat: dual wield - what allow to hold 2 weapons even if not light but not be heavy(2 handed) i tried you can hold 2 longswords or any versatile weapons!
get 2 adamantium longswords - because do always critical hits
barbarian level 9: brutal critical skills: When you land a Critical Hit, you roll an extra damage die as well as the normal additional critical dice.
so by these things you wield 2 longswords and attacks twice (dual wield with the bonus action)
the barbarian brutal critical make an additional CRITICAL dice damage!!!
and the adamantium longsword always CRITICAL! so actually you will do 4 ATTACKS!!!
- Anonymous
When it says object for the auto crit does that mean inanimate objects or constructs? Because using it doesn't seem to proc it.

Just made a longsword and mine was 1D10 (1D8)+5 Slashing with a +1 enchant. This is different from the wiki saying 1D10 (1D8)+1 Slashing with a +1 enchant. Everything else was the same.
