So I was using this spell from level 2 till halfway level 4 and kinda stopper using it, now I'm halway level 5 but I suddenly can't summon imps and quasits without having a pact of the chain on wizard Gale. I was able to use it before, is this a glitch?

child NPCs will follow and react to your familiar if you have one summoned. it's very cute!

Crab is now different. Now does 1d4 +1 Damage + Slow ... Instead of 2d4 + bleeding
- Anonymous
Wait, the crab does 2d4 damage?
Why is that so much higher than every other familiar in the game?

In the goblin camp where the bugbear is sleeping, if you jump off the nearby ledge he'll yell at you for waking him up, instigating a dialogue check. Well, Scratch also did this after a short delay and it spawned *another* dialogue check between the bugbear and the dog as though the dog could talk.
I'm guessing this wasn't intended since Scratch and the bugbear have no actual way to communicate. It may be a bug affecting all familiars or just Scratch because he's may be classed a special kind of familiar due to him having a true NPC version of himself.

Is it possible to stack ranger summon, beast master summon, and warlock summon, or are they the same? Aka 3 spiders lol

Cat familiar is similar to minor illusion, such that you can use it to lure a bunch of npcs around it. Use it together with blast powder barrels and some fireballs for a good time.
Raven seems the best combat familiar otherwise since it can blind on every attack.

Just FYI, familiars, including Warlock Imp/Quasit, can't interact with the environment beyond moving smaller objects around a bit. No pulling levers, opening chests, etc. so you can't have your Imp fly behind a locked door and open it for you. Just incase you, like me, were hoping they'd be as useful as they are in actual DnD.

So as of release kids react to familiars! They run up asking to pet it or comment on how cute/pretty it is. (For Ravens and Cats unsure on the others) Though you can't react by letting them pet or touch its still a nice touch and also useful. If you want to gather kids away from a chest in a certain cave area so you aren't spotted by them.
Tip! For cats, be careful where you take them! They have very little jump range. So if you jump down somewhere high they will auto follow you and become stuck because they can't jump up. Also don't think you can just throw them up the ledge, tried that, ended up killing the poor kitty.
Anyone find an item that lets you cast this spell? If not hopefully someone will find a way to mod it in because I love having my kitty follow my Ranger but druids don't get this spell I find this HIGHLY stupid. Although its the same in 5e of D&D... its still stupid. I will also add cat plus wolf from beast master Ranger does get a little tricky sometimes I've had my wolf get stuck sometimes and get left behind. So keep an eye on them make sure you don't loose them. You can get the wolf unstuck by having them jump.

Does anyone know if familiars confer advantage to allies during combat???

Hello, are the animal companion and the familiar still mutually exclusive ? Thanks in advance.

what are the stats of the imp? are they the same as in table top?
- Anonymous
I thought a big point of this game is it was going to use 5e RAW. Very disappointed once I saw how this spell works in-game.

Is there a penalty to your stats I’d say... Your familiar were to perish in battle? Constitution -1?

can you use a familiar to move items around? I'm thinking the imp of the warlock would be even more usefull that way...
OR a crow from a wizard grabing a bomb and dropping it and the wizard firebolt it and BAM explosion as long that it isn't heavy it should be fine right?
there is also the possibility of a bag of holding in the future omgawd imagine all the chenanigan possible with a invisible imp that got that thing with it

Your familiars can level up. I wonder if it carries over if they die. I dont want to test it out though. Im too scared of losing my cute little cat.

Find familiar is usually a ritual spell, would it be possible to make that a part of the game since the familiars only have 1HP I don't see the use in having one. In D&D they have many uses but I don't see much reason to use a spellslot on something that dies in every fight unless there are specific places a familiar can get to.

I found a scroll of Summon Quasit, I 'learned' it as Wizard. It does not show in my spells and is not nested within Find Familiar.

Currently casting the cantrip Mage Hand dismisses the familiar to provide the hand and a second use of spell slot is required to regain your familiar. Unsure if this is intended but could easily be fixed by the way of initial casting providing a free recast ability, which is already implemented within the game

1. if used outside of combat, it doesn't cost a spell slot (ritual).
2. When summoned, you can delete spell from prepared - familiar won't disappear.
3. Raven blind work only until enemy turn and disappear when it moves. So it's useful only to increase hit chance on enemy on your turn.
4. Familiars can be buffed by longstrider and mage armor.
5. Quasite and imp invisible permanent. When battle begins, you can walk them freely without adding in battle to choose best position to attack.
