- A target with the Wet status is Vulnerable to Cold/Lightning damage and will sustain double damage from Cold and Lightning variants of this spell.

This uses attack roll thus benefits from luck of far realm. If paired with storm cleric’s channel ability, you can deal 64 damage with just a level 1 chromatic orb critical hit on wet enemies. Upcast to Level 3 gives 128 damage. two parasites. Pretty solid burst damage in early levels with no gear requirement.

If an enemy is standing on a water surface, hitting them with the fire variation of this will turn the water directly around them into steam (which applies cold/lightning vulnerability). It's a neat little trick but, steam unfortunately disappears very quickly and they'll lose vulnerability once they leave the cloud

This is an excellent early candidate for the sorcerer's Twin Spell metamagic ability, if you're looking to primarily act as a damage-dealer.

This spell is most usefull when combined with create water.
The wet condition doubles damage from cold and lightning damage.
That means instead of 2d8 (9) damage, they take 4d8 (18)
