      Useful early in the game for guaranteed damage and a bit of CC. Later on, your Bard is probably better off with THL.

        This would be a lot better if it forced the enemy to move (as it should), but it is still guaranteed damage and a rare chance at Concentration-free CC for a level 1 spell slot, so it's more useful than you might think.

          It is good actually. It is guaranteed damage, around 8 on average, but it always hits same as magic missle, which is valuable. And if you are lucky, it can scale up to 24 dmg and a CC effect
