War Domain says it gives a "Better" version of Shield of Faith. I can't see what makes it better though?

I am testing the game and am surprised that I cannot cast this spell on more than 1 party member. If I cast it on myself and then a teammate, it disappears from me.
Greatsword of Tyr and Shield of the absolute give this abilty
Does this work with unarmoured defense?
