Astral Knowledge Tips & Notes
- Knowledge of the Ages of Knowledge Domain Cleric does the same thing.
- Stacks with Knowledge of the Ages.
- This action is also useful for outside-of-combat skill checks.
- For example, you can choose Charisma and gain proficiency in Persuade and Intimidation checks, you will keep those proficiencies until you long rest. Then you can choose a completely different ability after a long rest.

Seems to be bugged for me. It's auto casting itself everytime I long rest and selects a random skill

Note it doesn't seem to work with stats that are already +5 unless that's just a Console thing

Has anyone tested to see if you can get Expertise in the skills gained from Knowledge of the Ages and/or Astral Knowledge?

Has anyone tested if you can get Expertise in the skills granted by this ability or by the Knowledge of the Ages cleric lore domain ability?

Take this from Gith and give it to Dragonborn. At least that would balance out the heap of weapon and armor proficiencies they get on top of this compared to nothing but a breath attack.

Gith get all this and humans can't just get an extra feat? Did they think players will choose the ugly races if they find out they're clearly better than the good looking ones?

I'm using this and knowledge cleric: I gain 7 (4 wisdom + 3 dexterity) proficiencies...

So I can choose, say, Charisma, and get proficiency for Persuade, Intimidation, etc. Then I could long rest and after the long rest switch to Intelligence for proficiency in things like History, Religion, etc?
Powerful for out-of-combat skill checks. I guess strength(shove power & resistance) and dexterity(stealth, shove resistance) are kinda useful for combat?

So busted for munchkin builds (Gith in general are amazing for minmax) build a character with a spread of good skills outside of one category you'll designate each long rest (usually wisdom, intelligence or charisma) and then choose proficiencies from background and class that are all outside of that category. Up to 5 free skill proficiencies each long rest. unless you die. :/
