Even though this doesn't require concentraction, I think Heroism and Calm Emotions are all waaay better anti-fear effects than this. Plus, when you do finally get to the point in the game where this effect is important to have, you'll have access to Hirelings' Feast, which makes this feature all but obsolete. It's a bad feature in 5e, and it remains a bad feature in bg3.

Bruh, this should just be a permanent AOE passive for Bards. Who would use this?

Am I overlooking something? Seems like a waste of an action unless you know for sure someone is going to cast fear on you.

Enemy AI targets this spell for some reason, even tho they do 0 damage to it. Good at cheesing for now.
This is a very niche spell but is STUPID good when you know there is frighten coming up. Frighten is by far the most common debilitating saving throw in the entire game and casting this back to back is super strong, because many of the enemies that abuse fighten like the high level gith in Act 3 all have extremely high saving throws, making cc spells kind of useless without setup. Since a bard should be using an offhand crossbow anyway for bonus action use, it keeps your action economy high while still being high impact. I seriously don't understand why people say this sucks, the enemies even sometimes target it since it seems to be coded as a person which you can see if you turn on highlights and then zoom into a wall.
