ActionWild Shape Charge |
Wild Shape: Cat is an Action in Baldur's Gate 3. Actions can be used in both exploration and combat to maneuver across the battlefield or to harm or aid Characters. The Actions that a Character can perform are based on their Class and Equipment. Wild Shape can be used in different situations both inside and outside of combat for various situations. The same can be said for Baldur's Gate 3, but naturally tailor-fit for the video game format. That being said, each transformation provides different uses and functions for a variety of situations. In the tabletop format, a Druid can stay in their Wild Shape form for a specific number of hours determined by half of the character's Druid levels (rounded down).

How to use Wild Shape: Cat in BG3
Unlocked at level two as a Druid, Wild Shape: Cat allows the user to transform into a relatively large cat both inside and out of combat engagements. Within combat, this transformation takes up an Action, unless the character uses it as Combat Wild Shape, learned only by the Druid Subclass Circle of the Moon, in which it's used as a Bonus Action instead. This transformation is mainly used outside of battle though, in order to be able to fit and go through tight spaces that people usually aren't able to enter. Other situations may merit the use of this transformation outside of battle when it comes to diverting anyone's attention and causing a distraction. During combat engagements, however, there is little to no merit in using this transformation. Meow can draw the attention of your Enemies to set up a trap or an ambush, but you'll have to revert the transformation eventually as its Claw Action leaves much to be desired in terms of damage, and its defensive and health stats are quite lacking. Furthermore, drawing Enemies attention can be better done with more combat-attuned transformations in your arsenal.
Wild Shape: Cat Tips & Notes
- Wild Shape: Cat will be considered a Bonus Action if you selected Combat Wild Shape (Circle of the Moon) and an Action if you selected Wild Shape (Circle of the Land).
- Wild Shape: Cat grants the Claws action, a melee attack that does 1 + 2 Slashing damage (Note that in the current version hovering over this action will display a damage bonus based on your character's Dexterity modifier, however the damage is correctly calculated using the Cat's Dexterity when attacking)

I think giving wildshaped cats immunity to falling damage would be balanced.
I want to know what I need to do, to make this cat combat ready.
What buffs can we give this little guy
