Avenge the Drowned Walkthrough

Entering the Water Queen's House, you meet a group of Umberlee priestesses celebrating the funeral of Holli Dylford. Talk to Allandra and agrees to investigate who killed Holli.

Use Speak with Dead on Holly can learn that she's killed by a "Metal Monster".

Head to Grey Harbour, talk to Gowland who witnessed the cause of Holli's death. He saw something in the water that seemed to approach Flymm Cargo.

While exploring Flymm's Cargo, you find a hatch to the basement, covered by some trunks and crates.

(Hatch to Flymm Cargo is hidden beneath some crates, at X-163, Y-143. Alternatively, you can reach Flymm Cargo basement through City Sewers.)

Climb down to the basement, After a conversation with the Redhammer, you learn that he is responsible for Holli's death.

Redhammer's submarine can take you to Iron Throne, where Gondians, Duke Ravengard, and Omeluum (if he is still alive) are kept hostages. Once you travel to Iron Throne, Gortash will turn hostile (quest Consider Gortash's Bargain auto fails), and you will have only 6 turns to save the hostages before entire building is flooded so make sure your team is prepared.

After your journey to Iron Throne (Quest Retrieve Omeluum and Save the Gondians), Flood Tide Allandra Grey demands you to turn Redhammer in, refuse will lead to a fight and fail this quest.

Careful with aoe's like wall of flames if you side with Redhammer. If they are over the hatch when the fight with the sea witches ends he will immediately turn hostile as he changes from ally to neutral.

So I just killed Gortash the first opportunity I got, while he was being proclaimed Arch duke in the fortress, and it looks like that causes Redhammer to leave a resignation letter behind. He seems to be long gone. I'm assuming this is because I'd no longer need to take his sub anywhere?

Everyone who’s having a moral dilemma:
Both people suck. The mermaids are evil scammers, and the dwarf committed manslaughter even if by accident. He doesn’t give a **** about it.
          Just kill all of them

There is a way to bug out this and foundry quest by meeting Gortash at his coronation and proceeding to destroy everyone in there. Once you get to the city the foundry is destroyed before you ever even set foot there and this quest is also bugged and cannot be completed.

You can get the horny dress and save submarine bro at the same time. Just give him up to the sea bitches, which instantly gives you the dress, after which attack them and after the battle sub bro will thank you.

I'm not sure if it's "bugged" but i saved dwarf and if you go the the bottom of the temple (in the back and down the hill there is a cave) and fight through it all, the dwarf's body is there in the water. Not sure if this is just a saved body left over if you happen to give the dwarf up anyways or something saying the seabitch is powerful .

                  Loot considerations:

                  Killing the Wave-Mother-->
                  * Yields a +2 Sickle that has advantage against targets that are wet.
                  * Lots more experience
                  * Annoying fight with high chance of getting instakilled by push-backs. Goes both ways I guess.
                  * 300 gold from saving the Dwarf
*A bunch of random green +1 and white items you can pawn.

---> Let the Wave-mother take the Dwarf
                  * Purp robe that grants fire AND cold resist.
                  + 1 AC
Rejuvenation (1-4 hp/ turn) if standing on a wet surface.
1 cast of create water on a short rest.
                  * Your "good" companions like Wyll and Seluna converted Shdowheart won't like it
                  *Avoid a fight
*Priestesses live and they sound badass singing in their temple / have swaggy aesthetic. (Do not drop their rags on kill unfortunately).
                  *Reduces pollution

Moral considerations seem a bit split. The punishment isn't that in scale with the crime (vehicular manslaughter), but the perp seems to think it was just a stroke of luck they they Iskeied a follower with their submarine- so their morality is moer hazy.

A really big note that is missing here is that if you complete the Iron Throne before going to start the quest, you will be locked out from receiving the quest

                    • Anonymous

It is not possible to save Redhammer. In the event you complete the Iron Throne and then save him in the fight afterwards he still ends up dead in the cave beneath the wave temple

                      • Anonymous

There is a bug which doesn't complete the quest as resolved and defaults to Redhammer dying if you choose to save him and succeed.

If you kill the last enemy and are relatively near Redhammer it should trigger his victory dialogue.

The reward is around 300g ~ , I don't know about the story implications.
