Baldur's Gate 3 Rosymorn Monastery Trail Walkthrough
Rosymorn Monastery Trail can be found past the Mountain Pass at The Risen Road. From The Risen Road, head west past Waukeen’s Rest onto the Mountain Pass, and then head further west and cross the bridge to enter Rosymorn Monastery Trail. It is through this trail that you’ll find the Rosymourn Monstery, and the Githyanki Crèche underneath, where you’ll find someone who can rid you of the tadpoles, as per Lae'zel’s suggestion, advances the Quest Find the Githyanki Crèche as part of the Main Quest Find a Cure. You can also take this path for the Main Quest Travel to Moonrise Towers, if you choose to Travel Through the Mountain Pass.
After entering the area from the Mountain Pass, move along the path onto the fork to activate the Trielta Crags Waypoint. You can proceed to follow the path to the northwest here where the path splits to eventually initiate a combat engagement against a Ghast, four ghouls, led by two Death Shepherds. The ghouls are low-level and should go down easily, but be wary of the Ghast and the Death Shepherds, who will all be level 6. Loot as necessary after the fight, and then head further to the northwest to find some dead Absolute zealots.
If you head west here and then turn right when the path forks, you’ll find a dead end where a has been overrun with vines. If head to the path to the left when the path forks, to the south, you’ll eventually find a plaque nearby that will talk of Lathander, followed by a bridge leading to what seems like the remains of a small bonfire camp. Elminster Aumar will be here if you haven’t talked to him already at the higher levels of Grymforge, before entering the Ruined Battlefield. If you continue along the path behind him and cross the shorter bridge to the south, you’ll find some stairs that will lead you to the southeast exit of the Ruined Battlefield.
If you head back to the Trielta Crags Waypoint and then take the path to the southwest this time, you’ll eventually make it to some ruined carts and cages, and dead civilians. The end of this path leads to the Goblin Camp.
Head back again to the Trielta Crags Waypoint and head northeast this time when the path splits. Keep going and then turn right at (X:39, Y:126) to find Lady Esther. If you speak to her and talk in agreement with her principles about how violence is in our blood, you’ll eventually begin the Quest Steal a Githyanki Egg, as she was tasked to acquire one by the Society of Brilliance, who want to see if they can raise a Githyanki away from their own people so they could end up less violent. If you talk to her again you can view her wares and buy them from her, which include the following:
- Cacophony
- The Graceful Cloth
- Hoppy
- Gloves of Cinder and Sizzle
- Gloves of Baneful Striking
- Boots of Elemental Momentum
After speaking with her, head back to the main path and continue further to the northeast. At the end of the path, you’ll find a cable car to take you down to the lower levels. If you head to the west first from here and then turn to the left, you can find an Elegant Chest at (X:-76, Y:-77), containing an elemental arrow or two and some liquids. Head back over to the cable car and interact with the Cable Car Wheel at (X:-46 Y:-85). You will need to succeed in a Strength skill check with a DC of 15 to use the cable car. Once you get off, attempt to enter the Rosymon Monastery from the side (X:73 Y:7) a cutscene with some Githyankis and some dwarves talking about the artefact will begin when you are nearing the entrance. Head in and go through the broken window on the left to enter the Rosymorn Monastery.

It turns out you can actually get a Death Shepherd as a "Control Undead" follower at this stage of the game with enough level hunting, but when you attempt to leave to go to ACT 2 proper (the Shadow-Cursed Lands) the controlled Death Shepherd won't follow you through to the next act.
