Apparently works against Apostle of Myrkul. Lost my mind when I realized he was no longer holding anything
Really strong single target spell against tough metal wielding opponents as the damage is non-saveable. On save they take damage, get disadvantage and you get to reapply every turn with bonus action. On fail they drop the weapon. Win/win!

Anyone seeing the disadvantage part of this spell drop off in patch 3? I've seen it twice now, even though the target is still holding the item and concentration wasn't broken.

Respecing Gale and can’t learn this spell at level 6??? Can anyone help?

Had Lae'Zel as an eldritch knight dual wielding. Heat metal made her drop both weapons and caused the bound weapon to no longer be bound? Seems a bit much for this spell to do all that
Good against Grym in the Grymforge. Will make him Superheat (lower resistance) without need for lava.

So it will prioritize the weapon before the armor?
Combos well with someone casting command to drop first then so that you can sizzle them each turn

Saved my ass against bosses so many times. Those greatswords are terrifying.

When a strong enemy drops their metal weapon and you scramble to stash it into your pack.

if the target is holding a metal weapon, it will eventually drop the weapon to overcome ongoing dmg ... which is realistic and nice. (Worked well on guys with big weapons..like Anders)
appears to not superheat grym on honor mode. not worth it for grym, just hit the valve with a ranged weapon and cheese from the stairs with minor illusion to get grym to walk in lava.
