2~16 Damage Cause a metal weapon or armour to glow red-hot and force the creature touching it to let go or receive Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and Ability Checks. If the creature is only wearing metal armour, it always receives Disadvantage. If the creature is still touching the metal, you can use a bonus action on subsequent turns to deal another 2~16 Fire damage and force the creature to let go or receive Disadvantage.

Heat Metal is a Spell in Baldur's Gate 3. Heat Metal is a Lvl 2 Spell from the Transmutation school. Spells can be used for dealing damage to Enemies, inflict Status Ailments, buff Characters or interact with the environment.
Heat Metal Information
- Description: Cause a metal weapon or armour to glow red-hot and force the creature touching it to let go or receive Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and Ability Checks.

Heat Metal (Condition)
- Metal weapons are dropped if the weilder fails their Saving Throw.
- If the target is touching the heated metal, they receive Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and Ability Checks.
- Every turn the target is touching the heated metal, the caster can use a
Bonus Action to deal another 2d8 Fire damage, forcing the target to Save or drop the weapon.

Had Lae'Zel as an eldritch knight dual wielding. Heat metal made her drop both weapons and caused the bound weapon to no longer be bound? Seems a bit much for this spell to do all that
Good against Grym in the Grymforge. Will make him Superheat (lower resistance) without need for lava.

So it will prioritize the weapon before the armor?
Combos well with someone casting command to drop first then so that you can sizzle them each turn

When a strong enemy drops their metal weapon and you scramble to stash it into your pack.

if the target is holding a metal weapon, it will eventually drop the weapon to overcome ongoing dmg ... which is realistic and nice. (Worked well on guys with big weapons..like Anders)
Respecing Gale and can’t learn this spell at level 6??? Can anyone help?
