Played as solo Laezel and this feat saved her butt against Ansur

this only work if you success your saving throw, the second part don't work.

I kinda like this on a heavy armor shield palladin. I have super high ac, and dumped Dex. The weakness of that is i rarely save against dex save spells like firebolt. This helps patch the weakness.

Would the block part of this feat work also for other harmful effects that forces you to do saving throw or just spells?

Larian should buff this feat to compensate for giving "moon gravity" shove as a bonus action to every (melee) build. Give it a bonus chance to successfully shove similar to the AC of the shield, give it a similar bonus to defend against shove, make shoves with the feat + shield cause target to fall prone. Anything but pretend Larian's meme-combat homebrew didn't hurt this feat.

Is this forever +2? Or using a +1 shield would give you +3 dex saving throws?

Wierd question but does this give you proficiency? Seeing that it is not required and only lvl4 is needed you'd think it does...

Is this effectively giving shield users the rogue's evasion ability?
so it give you +2 to dex saving throws against anything
+ for a reaction if a spell make you dex saving throw then halving or negate the damage!
the important part is negating when you succed which mean you get defense against AOE SPELLS like fire ball!
even rogue evansion not do that just halving it! so it is great and if you want to build a super tanky build then you can use the defensive duelist too cause this feat defend you against spells while the duelist feat against any attack but cant defend against aoe damages!
