- In Early Access, wearing these gloves without having the Brand of the Absolute would inflict Bane on yourself. This was removed in the Release version of the game.

Super strong in concert with Paladin using Luminous Armor (with Divine Favor) and Giantbreaker on a ranged character, allowing them to apply Bane, Reeling, and Radiating Orb all at once to an enemy with each shot, essentially applying a massive debuff to hit. Was a fun way to facilitate a ranged Paladin instead of the usual Smite nova.
The in-game description says the effect has a chance to trigger on a melee hit but it has also triggered on ranged attacks.

Does this still work in general? And if so do you still need the absolute mark for it to work? Doesn't seem to do anything.

Does this item still have a chance to apply bane on hit whilst having the absolute mark?

I've noticed that the wording in the description has changed now 'Blessed by the Priestess Gut, these gauntlets provide additional aid to any who bear the Absolute's mark upon their flesh.' It also has Sleight of Hand +1 now. Wondering if the penalty is still there if you don't have the mark.

What is considered an "attack"? Anything that does damage? Or are control spells like Sleep also considered attacks?

Just talk to Priestess Gut, ask about the branding so you no longer affected by bane. Reading comprehension is a thing.

When i remember correctly, there was an option, that you can be marked by the 2 peasants near the druid grove, who defend the tadpoled old dying man. But never tried out myself.

How do you get Priestess Gut to mark you? Because it's obvious that if you're not marked you suffer disadvantages. My cleric was constantly baned because of that fact.

How do I know what party members are believers who bear the mark?

Is the debuff still applied during wild shape?
