Gloves of Archery are Gloves in Baldur's Gate 3. Gloves can be equipped to a character's hands in their designated inventory slot and provide different effects ranging from increased Saving Throws, to gaining Advantage on certain attacks. Even a modest pair of Gloves in BG3 can help a character tremendously, so be on the lookout for them, and equip them when you can.

Can confirm, gloves still bugged. You DO get the +2 damage increase with ranged attacks but the tooltips and such won't tell you. Using a UI mod that included showing damage estimates told me it was working though.

I have played 2 campaigns up to this point and the vendor has not had the gloves on either save.

Seems to be bugged. Dual crossbow College of Swords Bard. With gloves, my bonus to hit is +5. Without them, my bonus is +10. not sure why they're nerfing me, but accuracy is more useful than an extra few points of damage...

if you kill "grat the trader" before buying the gloves, you'll probably never get them. BUT as long as he's alive you can get them, even if the goblins are hostile and attack you on sight. as long as you remain unseen, you can pickpocket him! here's how I did it:
fast travel to the blighted village with two characters in your party (I used gale bc he has minor illusion, and az bc he can sprint like hell), head towards the goblin camp but take a left and jump down to the fallen tree bridge, and sneak past the goblin outpost. you might walk into a trap or a dozen, but no one will notice you. when you get to the bridge to the stronghold, both it and the area before it are basically blind spots to the guards. grat is standing right on the other side.
put gale at the start of the bridge a safe distance away and cast minor illusion to lure grat out on the bridge alone (you can recast the illusion closer and closer to keep luring him, just make sure to back up and stay out of his line of sight). then enter turn based mode, and have az chuck a sleep potion on grat.
it'll trigger combat for az, but as long as gale stays out of sight he can easily sneak up to grat, pickpocket the gloves, and fast travel away without even joining combat. all the other goblins will be far away, so az can then easily dash out of range and also leave combat without fighting anyone. profit! ✌️

It says you gain proficiency with short and longbows and +2 damage to ranged attacks. Does this +2 to ranged attacks add to croxxbows as well? I cannot see it in the combat log when reviewed

This item have a UI Bug. (at the time)
The +2 dmg bonus on ranged attacks aren't calculated in the inventory UI, but you you hit a foe with a ranged atk you can check the dmg you will see the +2 on the calculus.
the free bow proficiencies are kinda pointless. you should only be using weapons on classes or subclasses that have extra attack or divine strike anyway, and any such classes or subclasses will already give you bow proficiencies on their own. *maybe* except for a non-elf rogue.
