Gloves of Soul Catching are Gloves in Baldur's Gate 3. Gloves of Soul Catching are ideal for Monks as the effects are applied on unarmed attacks which are common for Monks. Gloves can be equipped to a character's hands in their designated inventory slot and provide different effects ranging from increased Saving Throws, to gaining Advantage on certain attacks. Even a modest pair of Gloves in BG3 can help a character tremendously, so be on the lookout for them, and equip them when you can.

BG3 Gloves of Soul Catching Notes and tips
- The way Soul Catching works is as follows:
- When you land an unarmed attack, you gain the condition Grasp Essence for 2 turns, which grants two reactions and a special ability. Grasp Essence can only be gained once per turn, even if you consume it and then land another unarmed attack that turn.
- The two reactions are Soul Catching Boon and Soul Catching Prowess. They give a +5 bonus to a single attack or saving throw, respectively. They only trigger if you need them (e.g. if your attack would hit without it, Soul Catching Boon won't trigger). You lose Grasp Essence as soon as either reaction is used.
- The special ability is called Soul Snare: Heal, and it appears as a green icon on the far right side of your hotbar. It costs no actions or other resources to activate, and heals you for 10 HP. As soon as you use it, you lose Grasp Essence.
- BUG: Unlike The Sparkle Hands, this does not grant its bonus damage to thrown weapon attacks. (Unclear which of the two is the bugged one.)

It doesn't even give advantage it gives a bonus on an otherwise missed attack roll.
I rolled a 13 when I needed a 15 so it prompted me to activate Soul Catching Boon. I said yes and the attack landed. I looked at the combat log and it doesn't show up as an advantage roll but as "+5 (Soul Catching Boon)." This **** is wacky. I haven't been able to determine whether it can activate more than once per turn, however.

"BUG: Unlike The Sparkle Hands it does not proc on thrown weapons. (Unclear which of the two is the bugged one.)"
What does "proc" mean?

When I throw a weapon, I receive the "grasp essence" condition, but not the 1d10 force damage roll.

This is wrong, the gloves is a reward for saving hope from hell. You get an armor of looting Rafael's corpse

Thrown item hits, even weapons, seem to trigger its effect and count as "unarmed"

possible bug, but was using these with the blink ring. After a successful blink the effects of these gloves are turned off until you reequip them

This looks to be a solid contender for BIS for monks...extra unarmed damage and healing every turn OR free advantage attacks/saving throws when at full HP???
Yes please ^_^

Its a quest reward for freeing hope, Raphael only gives you the armor
Looks to be an oversight or bug, but you can equip and punch useless items like bottles and then use the Soul Snare: Heal to regain 10 HP each time your destroy an item. A cheesy way to heal your entire party to full out of combat essentially for free.
