Band of the Mystic Scoundrel is one of the available Rings in Baldur's Gate 3. In BG3, there are two types of Accessories, which are Rings or Amulets. Once equipped, these Accessories may give the character certain bonuses, such as new Spells, resistance against certain kinds of damage, bonus AC, an increase to an Ability Score, or more.

Location, Where & How to Find

  • Circus of the Last Days in Rivington (beginning of Act 3). You need to win the Djinn Akabi's rigged game (he is using a Mage Hand ring  to cheat) by stealing his ring or distracting him. This will upset the Djinn and he will teleport the character who won to the Jungle of Chult (only way this area is accessible). The ring can be found in a backpack by a broken tent and skeleton above the dilosaurus cave (X:-1562, Y:-1518). A teleport portal is located nearby (next to it a chest containing the legendary weapon Nyrulna).

      Be Swords Bard, have this ring, have Helmet of Arcane Acuity (from Act 2), get arrow of many targets (below lvl 5 but also words beyond) or use your dual-attacks(Sword bard flourish if you're fighting a single boss so cannot use arrow of many targets). Get +7 in Arcane acuity so effectively having 100% chance to use Hold Person on the target as a bonus action. (upscale it to whatever is your max for more targets)

      Get Hypnotic Pattern, Hold Monster, Confusion(here you can swap out Hypnotic Pattern to Fear, cuz Fear is better but only cone) ,Otto's irresistible dance. Can get Polymorph too cuz why not. All of these are great options to be the ultimate CC king/queen.

      Optional items to get: Ring of Mental Inhibition (Whenever they fail your CCs and they will, they get mental fatigue), Boots of Stormy Clamour (whenever you apply a condition apply Reverberation) now they get -2 on all saving throws as well, making it easier to destroy the target. But honestly, Hold Person is enough for 99% of the time anyways and makes every fight easy.

        i see a lot of talk with this for cc spells, but using this for invisibility is also fantastic. Unload your bard flourishes, then hide for the turn

        • Y'all be talking about Bards, but Enchantment spells upcast very well. On a Warlock, by the time you get this, you can Command or Charm 5 enemies or Hold Person 4 using your bonus action.

          I recommend Diadem of Arcane Synergy or Helm of Arcane Acuity to either increase damage output or chance to succeed. Pact of the Blades lets you double down on the Arcane Acuity before casting for high success chance or Attack, Hold Person, guaranteed Crit Attack with Diadem of Arcane Synergy.

          And Command and Charm also don't break concentration, Command: Approach can waste an enemy turn and bring everyone close together which is great if using Fog or Darkness, paired with an Evocation Wizard, or paired with Tiger Aspect Barbarian, line everyone up for some great AoE damage. If you have a Monk or Thief you can use Command: Drop then have one of your speedy characters collect everyone's weapons etc.

          Hold Person as a Bonus Action Concentration Spell will even increase your damage output through crits more than Hex would which is the Concentration spell you'd generally want to focus on.

              Potentially build defining item, a shame you can only get it in act 3, though thankfully you can get it right at the start of act 3.

                Awesome for Bards. Hit your enemies until they have low HP and then insult them to death with Vicious Mockery. They literally die of shame.

                  Three levels in rouge for thief bonus action, one in fighter for proficient and fighting style archery, 8 in swords bard for two fears, extra attack, and normal bard stuff. Ranged flourish for a double shot with an action, hit someone with a spell or go invisible, another attack that can also use a flourish, another spell as a bonus action. Can mix and match with hand crossbows and dashes jumps and disengages. Or use the cloak that makes smoke on disengages and use it to blind people for advantage, then hit them with that salvo of arrows and vicious mockery. Absolutely destroys bosses, combo with phantasmal force and/or heat metal (which you can use both bonus action on to reapply damage twice) to make you into the ultimate large target killer. You can take down steel watchers in like one turn

                    This feels like it would be decent on Eldritch Knight.

                    Lvl 10 subclass feature - Eldritch Strike: When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, it has Disadvantage on its next Saving Throw against a spell you cast before the end of your next turn.

                    You don't have the best spell options, but your enemy having disadvantage on Hold Person and Tasha's Hideous Laughter isn't bad for most enemies.

                      most of the decent enchantments / illusions are concentration, in that case id rather use haste, fire wall, spirit guardians, etc. seems great for dissonant whispers, command, and vicious mockery though.

                        BiS for any Bard, specially if the Bard has Rogue Thief multiclass! I'll not say what it will do, just test it and come back to thank me. The gameplay is awesome. Don't forget to disable dual wielding off-hand auto attack.

                          It doesn't actually GIVE you the spell Illusion, does it? I assume you just get the "privilege" of using a bonus action instead of an action?

                            Okay finally after sometime I found this, the Coordinates are X:-1562 Y:-1518 , it's on the balcony of the closed cave with sleeping raptor, when u go top near the sleeping raptor and look back towards the big dragon skeleton you can see a balcony you can jump on and there you can find this ring inside a backpack
