The Whispering Promise is one of the available Rings in Baldur's Gate 3. In BG3, there are two types of Accessories, Rings or Amulets. Once equipped, these Accessories may give the character certain bonuses, such as new Spells, resistance against certain kinds of damage, bonus AC, an increase to an Ability Score or more.

A soft, soothing voice floats from this ring, reciting a prayer over and over.

Well, is there any way for me to get this? Im in Act 2, Killed Roah and Grat, Had Volo change my eye, so he ran away and opened the Box, so i cant give it back to the Zhentarim.

        The item description now reads:
Blessed Mercy: When you heal a creature, you gain a 1d4 bonus to Attack Rolls and Saving Throws for 2 turns.
        seems like they changed it?

this is actually one of the BIS slot items for any cleric.

This ring + the reviving hands + devotee's mace (incense healing class effect) + (the boots) will net you = a free bless for 2 turns every turn for 10 turns, free 3 temp hp every turn. free 1d4 healing every turn + completely concentrationless

If you are smart you proc the mace class effect prior to a big fight and basically gain 12 turns of free bless with heals/temp hp for free.

At the point I am at, I rescued Volo, he's in my camp ready to do the operation. Roah, Goblins all dead. I'm rested a couple times and Brem doesn't seem to be getting it. Is it worth resting a few more times to see if he does, or will this trigger an effect that will push the game?

Looks like bit of a story - it's volo's ring but he gets captured by the goblins. Then Grat sells it to Roah, where it ends up with Brem (not sure, speculating)

So the ingame item description is wrong? It says YOU get the buff when healing somebody. So the healed person gets the buff, not you?

I just found it on Volo at the Grove. You have use the trade icon in the lower left of screen b/c there is no merchant dialogue.

For me none of the mentioned traders are selling the ring. Tried long resting multiple times with one character besides each trader.
I completed the missing shipment quest by joining the Zhentarim and keeping the box for delievery to baldurs gate.
This ring is way too strong early game, maybe even late game depending on what is to come.

Amazing ring. The Whispering Promise, Hellrider's Pride gloves and Boots of Aid and Comfort combos well with AoE heals. You're entire party can receive +3 temporary hitpoints, Bladeward and Bless using big AoE heals like Mass Healing Word or Preserve Life. You save on spell slots and action points.

Alternatively you can throw a potion at your allies, will grant them the buffs too. If 2 or more of your allies are extremely close together, you can throw the potion on the ground near them, it can AoE hit all of them, basically works as a mini AoE heal & buff without using spell slots.

I've been running Shadowheart as an offensive caster but healing/buffing purely using potions like the Alchemist class in Pathfinder.
You gotta farm those potion mats though and keep yourself stocked up.

Just tested. The Bless effect from The Whispering Promise doesn't trigger Mystra's Blessing from the Staff of Arcane Blessing.

The in-game description sounds like I would get the bonus for healing someone else. It actually applies the Bless spell to the person receiving the healing. Doesn't stack with Bless. I wonder if it works with Staff of Arcane Blessing.

I bought this ring from VOLO at the druid grove after the first gate fight before he leaves to be captured by the goblins. He doesn't have a dialogue trade prompt but there is a button on most NPC's in the bottom left of screen to trade.

I have tried to correct the faulty category listing "ring" in both the first line of the body and the table header, as I have succesfully done for Crusher's Ring previously. In this case however, the faulty entry was deleted by the corrected entry "Rings" was not save. I tried it twice, but keep getting an error message: "Error!!! Unable to update page"
