So, from experience using this on sorcerer, this will effect your allies as well, and not even if they just fail. I've used Careful Spell metamagic to ensure that none of my allies fail, but they always receive mental fatigue regardless. I think it either works like everyone makes the roll regardless of whether they have to or not and if they would've failed it still procs, or it works that whenever anyone makes a save against your spells in general, regardless of save or fail. but I'm not sure if it does that on enemies or not. Very confusing and makes it hard to want to keep using.

Does this thing work on AoE's? Sleet Storm or direct AoE's like Fireball for instance. If not, then it's useless on a caster and better on a Berserker or Fighter or similar, perhaps even Assassin... (since it procs off successful actions). If it procs off Call Lightning for the damage but not the surface for instance but not Fog (blindness failed save) then I guess it's still worth it for a caster, barely (depending on your other rings, setup etc.)

Should this ring trigger when we use Bow of the Banshee? (has a chance to inflict frightened on hit)
Looking at the combat log, frightened seems to come from a saving throw, and I think a weapon attack is an action, however the ring is not proccing.

Am I misunderstanding how this works, or is it a bugged interaction?

A good ring to put on your crowd control caster.
Makes it so things like Fear, Hold Person, Hypnotic Pattern, etc. have a higher change of staying on the target.
