Guiding Light is one of the available Rings in Baldur's Gate 3. In BG3, there are two types of Accessories, Rings or Amulets. Once equipped, these Accessories may give the character certain bonuses.

Used by the previous owner to access both the Underdark's darkest corners and her own basement, this ring seems to reflect light where there should be none.

I actually had this equipped way later on in the game, and the ring showed me something again in different area. I just cant remember where, and I wonder if it does it in other spots too in different chatpers.

Something to note: you do not actually need to get the ring to enter the secret basement. If you go down to the bottom floor, and head up the stairs to the first, you are able to jump down (With some significant fall damage, around 32 damage, I believe) between a gap in the wall and the stairs. After that, you can open the door and you have full access to the secret basement.

I managed to get in closed area on the first level (room with mechanism with the flower) from wooden stairs by using Shadow Walk
