Adamantine Splint Armour is a Heavy Armor in Baldur's Gate 3. Heavy Armor can be equipped to character's body in their designated inventory slot providing AC and sometimes especial effects. Although heavier armor usually provides more protection, keep in mind they may also hinder your characters' spell casting.

Adamantine Splint Armour Notes & Tips
- AC 18. Albeit not stated, the Armour Class indicates this is a +1 Splint Armour.
- Reeling: An attacker hitting the wearer of this armour would get a -3 Attack penalty to his next attack that round, and a -2 on the first attack the following round. This effect is stacking until a hit resets the duration.
- BG3 Damage Reduction: Any Damage Resistance is calculated first (e.g. from Barbarian Rage), then the Magical Plate damage reduction.

This armor is so good but GOD DAMN it is ugly compared to some other heavy armors

the Light Armr is better if you char can use both light and heavy.
Light has +2DEX so it goes to +18 armor too. And it weights much less.

This is probably the 3rd best heavy armor in the game, but if you take availability into account and how it basically has no competition for 80-90% of the game, you could argue it for being the most useful.
The Armor of Persistence is better but can’t be purchased until you get to the lower city, cost a fortune, and requires Dammon to still be alive.
Helldusk is even worse off since you have to beat the hardest fight in the game to unlock it, at which point it’s more of a trophy than a meaningful upgrade. I got to use it less than 3 hours before I beat the game.
Crit damage immunity and Reeling are such strong effects that Adamantine Splint is still worth considering even in late act 3.
There are other heavy armor sets that you might get more use out of if running some more niche builds, but as far as general purpose goes, this thing is king for the vast majority of the game.
To me, it's the most overrated item in the game. No doubt, it's cool, however, if you want to change class from warrior to barbarian - you can't do that, you'll get dead weight in the form of armor.
The medium armor from the forge is much better. Yes, slightly worse, but there are many classes in the game that can wear medium, you can change class, flip it between characters and still lose almost nothing.

Reeling is actually only for 2 turns with both armors, instead of 3 for the heavy armor!

just you guys know, if you pair this with other boots, there's a gap between the boots and the armor.

Notably, the damage reduction applies to damage caused by Warding Bond, too. Meaning it's an *excellent* choice for a cleric with a heavy armor proficiency.

Does the 2 damage reduction stack at all with heavy armour master feat?

Considering the robot was resistant to most physical damage, shouldn't this kinda be too? But I guess the reeling part is the theme here.

I made a Paladin and my goal was to get this for them. It looks so good paired with the adamantine shield.

best heavy armor in the game. Put it on Laezel, give her armor to somebody else

Item feels bugged. My custom fighter can't even hold it in their inventory.

On Tactician difficulty (possibly also on the new Honor difficulty), this heavy body armor tends to make its wearer a noticeably lowest priority in combat.
During one of my most unforgettable battles in this game (ambushed by the 2nd gith patrol), my Dark Urge (a sorceress wearing this armor) was on the front line all the time, supposed to be the by far easiest party member for the gith soldiers to target during the entire fight. Yet, the gith archers on high ground picked Halsin first (until he took cover) and then Shadowheart (until she was downed due to no healing). During many rounds of this challenging battle (as we were both outnumbered and under-leveled), my Dark Urge was attacked only once - only when the gith leader had no other targetable target in sight. This battle became a turning point for my Dark Urge playthrough. After that, I rarely used this armor again, because I'd prefer all enemies to target my Dark Urge first and foremost, as she was the party leader, the party face, the party tank, the party scout and I was playing her game. On the other hand, the only companion who could make good use of this heavy armor, Lae'zel, was missing most of Act 3 due to being kidnapped.
