Elven Chain is a Medium Armour in Baldur's Gate 3. Medium Armour can be equipped to a character's body in their designated inventory slot, providing AC and sometimes special effects. Although heavier armor usually provides more protection, keep in mind they may also hinder your characters' spell casting.

Some would say it would be good for a spellcaster not does not have higher then light armor proficiency - I don't since it does not really give anything more then some AC and adv on dex saves - I'd say this is better used by a rogue or ranger.

Doesn't seem to interfere with Wizard Spellcasting since it grants proficiency for itself. Great armor for Gale.

For some reason "Bracers of Defense" (which gives +2 AC as long as you aren't wearing armor) doesn't count it as armor
