Luminous Armour is a Medium Armor in Baldur's Gate 3. Medium Armor can be equipped to a character's body in their designated inventory slot providing AC and sometimes special effects. Although heavier armor usually provides more protection, keep in mind they may also hinder your characters' spell casting.

I've done some testing on reports of this not working since patch 5 with Paladin smites. Smites using first and second-level spell slots will not trigger the Radiating Shockwave passive on honour mode only but it seems that smites at third level and above still will. Improved Divine Smite at Paladin level 11 will also still trigger the shockwave.

Did some testing and yes this armour is awesome. But wanna also add something.
Luminous gloves are single Target and add the Radiant Orb to the guy u are attacking. But the gloves also have a max stack value of 8 or 9 i think and reset all Radiant Orbs with single target attacks above this stack(if u only attack one target)

This armour here is an exception. It appies (as in patch 4 testing on hitting an ally) the radiant orbs on a 3m aoe, not on the target itself. Furthermore it stacks to 20!!(so dont attack a guy with 20 Orbs with the Luminous gloves!!!!) . The Armour apply 2 orbs to everything in 3 meters of your target per radiant hit.

Now we take an Life cleric with his lvl 8 divine Strike radiant and 2 radiant dmg dealing melee weapons. That are 4 radiant dmg hits in his turn so 8 orbs for the enemies next to your target. Get high AC and Wisdom to trigger the Holy Lance Helm that also deals radiant dmg on a miss to the attacker though the enemy has to overcome a saving throw 13 dexterity + spellcastingproficeny(in case of cleric Wisdom). If your helmet trigger, another 2 orbs in the surronding of the attacker who misses you(works on melee and range)

If all the enemies are close to each other and you are lucky with the helmet they all have 20 Orbs in no time.

Use haste in the beginning and u have 12 orbs on Enemies in aoe range of ur target. If u have also a second bonus action that would raise to 16 orbs

Always remember that the target itself doesnt get a orb by this Armour only the other targets close by.

U can use items by letting them fall out of ur inventory and than attack them if u cant overcome enemies AC but consider that the lvl 8 cleric divine Strike radiant doesnt trigger if u already killed an object/enemy with ure basic weapon attack.

To the ring, i havent done any testing of how much it can stack the orb or what his max stack is, but if it would be also 20 than the armour, ring together with cleric spell Spirit Guardian would be best, though u have to take care because the spell is a concentration thing

this item is bit bugged..some radiant effects don'T trigger it..some effects trigger only in 3m around you (radiance of dawn) others trigger only on that monster (sacred flame) others in 3m around the target

          • Stacks more than 7 times, really easy to stack with this armour and sinergices with other items making it even more broken.needs to be nerfed.
-Luminous gloves: When the wearer deals Radiant Damage, receive 1 turn of Radiating Orb.
-Coruscation Ring: When the wearer deals spell damage while illuminated by a light source, they also inflict radiating orb iconRadiating Orb upon the target.
-Callous Glow Ring: The wearer deals an additional 2 points of damage against creatures that are illuminated.

Anyone know where this chest is? The only one I can find is the Gilded Chest and it just had a Paladin smiting helmet in it

Anyone figoure out how to get this if you went to the Underdark before the patch that added it? Or if there's a similar radiant build armor found later in the game?

                • Anonymous

This item is straight up broken with AoE Radiant spells like Spirit Guardians or Sunbeam. Each target that takes Radiant damage will release an AoE shockwave that applies multiple stacks of Radiating Orb. If this hits a clump of creatures, they will all AoE each other, applying as many as 10-20 stacks, i.e. a -10 to -20 debuff to their attack rolls, with no save, which only decreases by 1 each turn.

Use it, abuse it, this debuff will completely solo some encounters.

I did not open this chest when I first went to the outpost because it was empty so I loaded my game and left it locked and trapped. Upon going back there after the patch it was still empty so it seems loot is not retroactive if it is added into the game again.

Just opened the chest, and item wasn't there? only some gold. Went back to old save, when I first passed through the outpost, and it was there. So apparently loot changes as you progress?
