Gotta correct myself, it's only giving 2 stacks of orb per hit now... i could have sworn it was 4 before.... maybe aoes are different idk

the ring gives 4 radiant orb per hit, and the cap is 7 (they lose the 8th immediately). This makes multihit spells not as overpowered as you might think, still fairly strong to get that max on one turn, though. Where it really shines, however, is using something like spirit guardians on a cleric. You can walk through the battle field giving massive attack roll debuffs on as many hordes of enemies as you please.

I tested this spell using single target repeatedly on allies, if multihit spells somehow break the cap, feel free to correct me.

You can pair this with the necklace "Psychic Spark" which gives you the ability to get one extra hit with ANY cast of Magic Missile to instantly light up an entire field or piling multiple hits onto targets with no chance of missing, as the buff applies to the unique cast from the necklace AND your own spellcasting. This can further synergize with the "Callous Glow Ring" to deal 2 additional damage to illuminated targets.

My current Sorcerer build is also using the staff "Spell Sparkler" to gain 2 Lightning Charges whenever dealing damage with a spell or Cantrip (which procs off of every individual hit), and then the "Gloves of Belligerent Skies" that deals 2 turns of Reverberation whenever you deal Radiant, Lightning, or Thunder damage, as well as the "Thunderskin Cloak" where any creature with Reverberation that deals damage to you has to make a Constitution save or be Dazed. You not only massively debuff the opponents but also gain a huge advantage against them even if they DO hit you.

Another good use would be with a Scorching Ray build against bosses, massive attack reduction from the many rays. Beholder build!

try these other Radiant Orb items:

Callous Glow Ring - Deal 2 Radiant damage to targets affected by Radiant Orb
Luminous Gloves - applies RO when dealing Radiant damage

Callous Glow will trigger off your initial damage due to Coruscation, which then triggers Luminous Gloves. End result is 4 stacks of Radiant Orb per spell, however it seems to be capped at 7 stacks now so its probably not worth it on a warlock. On AOE spells though its great

Not mentioned in the tooltip: it inflict 2 rounds of Radiating Orb. So full power Eldritch Blast gives -6 to attack rolls.
It only procs off spell damage, which doesnt include Hex damage or Lightning Charge damage

You can cast light (cantrip) on your weapon for it to work on literally anything. Doesn't have to be weapons with inbuilt light like the Blood of Lathander.

Guessing this works well when paired with people who are equipped with luminous weapons such as the Blood of Lathander legendary mace or Selune's Spear of Night from the Nightsong quest line in the Temple of Shar. I'm sure there are a few other weapons that have a magical aura like that as well, but I did happen to notice that it only says light source, so it COULD mean both normal and magical types.

Either way, that would be quite OP in Act 2 using the mace lol

Seconding the best item claim. Level 1 Magic Missile turns into a 100% chance to inflict -6 to attack rolls on any character in range.

Hands down the best item in the whole game. Equip it on your warlock and enjoy seeing a boss with -99 attack debuff.
