Protection from evil and good didn't protect me.. fear aura went right through it, despite its very specific wording against fey.

Frustrating enemy to deal with. Especially in groups. They PASSIVELY frighten characters giving disadvantage on attacks and making it so you can't move. This makes positioning to not blow yourself up with AOE impossible, and makes them hard to hit and kill extending the fight and increasing the chance they'll gut your characters. On top of that, each time they manage to land a hit on you, they have a chance to apply the paralyzed debuff. Which means not only do you lose your turn (making them even harder to kill), but any subsequent attacks on that character have advantage and auto crit if they connect. Combined with each one having multiple attacks, increasing the likelihood that this chain starts. They also teleport, so trying to create a kill funnel is useless as they'll just skip past your ground defenses. Your character claims that "fire and light" are your friends, but those effects have 0 bearing on the fight. A couple of these mixed into an encounter is one thing. Focus them down, move on to heavy hitters. But 6-8 of them at once? Are you kidding me? Nightmare encounter. This game makes me feel like I need every character dipped into fighter/paladin for heavy armor proficiency so I can hit 20+ AC to not wipe on every encounter.

Daylight cleric spell lvl 3 in sphere form and all your party together are good to deal with this things

Shadowheart mentioned they get blinded by light, yet the legendary Blood of Lathander had no effect on them. Neither did the Daylight spell. They crit with most if not all attacks, inflict fear aura so you cannot move and paralyze. I don't understand why you would design an enemy like this unless your goal WAS to make your players frustrated.

Natural light and the guiding light ring applied on a character plus the guardian spell (the one that applies an AOE around your character) works wonders with these ****ers

Did I miss something? These guys keep auto resurrecting after I kill them? They dont get the light debuff even though I literally apply radiating light on them. They still frighten my characters even though WIS save is succeed?

Something is buggy with these things, from their perma fear aura even on saves, to their perma crit with each attack that doesn't miss. Am I missing something when I inspect their character sheets???

Is something wrong with their fear aura? I'm succeeding on the saves but still getting frightened.
Cast daylight. They have light sensitivity. They can’t hit crap if your team has decent AC.
