Elixirs in Baldur's Gate 3 are consumables used to gain temporary buffs. These can be found in various ways such as enemy or boss drops, scattered in various locations, inside crates/chests, sold by Merchants, or b Crafting.
Tips: Most Elixirs/Potions can work if you simply throw it on other characters. For example, if you throw a Potion of Healing on a companion, then he or she will be healed. Works better if you stick your team members together and use one potion to cure the entire team.
(Simply throw potions on the ground to use it on multiple companions.)
(You can unlink teammates and order them to move to the same spot.)
(Characters will stand together so one potion can work on all party members.)

Elixir of universal resistance: I had kept 12 for the last fight, they were all wasted. Every time there is a cutscene - and there are many until u are in front of the Brain - the elixirs would disappear. So I had to kill it unbuffed. Same about the very expensive weapon coatings I had saved for that fight....

Is there a guide of weapon coatings? There are so many throughout the game but I'm unsure how they work. After I apply them they soon disappear. At first there is a small purple dot next to the image of the weapon, and then it's gone. I never seen them proc'ing... So are they bugged & a waste of time & money or not? Can they be combined with elixirs or they cancel each other?
