      It didn't improve my jump when put into strength with 17 base to 18 with hair. I used the club of hill giant strength to leap and there is a difference. Does jump improve with individual ability points?

        After playing around with respec stats and looking at stat equipment, the only way I made the hair useful was setting wisdom to 17 as a monk. The hair bumps you to 18, you got pots for strength, gloves for dex, the headband for invis checks maybe, and tavern gives you 1 con. Give the con amulet to shadow for concentration. Kash Boots for wisdom + unarmed. Tldr: monk = pick wisdom

          As this is a +1 bonus and an ability doesn't benefit from being an odd number, it seems like there are two best-use cases:

          1) Use it on Constitution. All builds use Con, barring nutty challenge builds. This will save you at least one point towards Con.
          2) Charisma builds. There is another +1 buff later in Act 3 that specifically grants +1 to Charisma depending on choices and rolls. Combined with other bonuses, this can raise your 20 CHA to +1 from Hag Hair, +1 from Patriar (Mirror), +2 from Mirror of Loss. The Charisma-specific buff item is Birthright, but it specifically will only raise your CHA to 22, which does stack with the Mirror of Loss buff at least, meaning still a max of 24. I don't believe it stacks with Hag Hair or the separate Patriar buff, so you can't weasel your way to 26.

          A CHA build also will benefit from dipping into Warlock lvl 3 for the Pact Weapon benefit of changing your damage to CHA, if you desire. Of course, if you know you won't respec into something wildly different, simply using the +1 to get your primary damage stat from 19 to 20 will save you that +1 you'd get from a Feat.

              Might be obvious to some people, but a good pick if you like to Respec (like I do) is CON. Never a main stat, but not a dump stat either. Hitting 20 in your main stat at level 4 isn't that important. More HP never hurts and keeping concentration can be vital. You can set CON to 13 in the respec and save 2 attribute points to put towards your more important stats, or something else for saving throws.

                For those who wander you will loss Auntie's Buff after respec or not, here is the answer I discovered;
                The simple answer is NO, you will not loss the buff, but you will not able to change the buff you chose, meaning that the buff you choose will stay on the character. Therefore, choose your Buff wisely and make sure it is related to your classes. - K

                  If you are having difficulties getting Ethel to talk to you before she dies:

                  The conversation triggers when it is Ethel's turn in the fight and she is really low on health. If you kill her on your turn before that she just dies.

                    any way to reset the effect? I put +1 Dex, but now I found the gloves of dexterity, so I want to respec the character.... the point is that if I don't put that point into charirsma, respeccing is almost useless (still have to use 2 feats instead of 1 to reach 20).

                      You can avoid breaking your paladin oath by having another character stand near her when she surrenders and take the deal using them instead

                        Careful the hair can be consumed by the owl, so its better to put on the stash rather than keeping it on the inventory

                          Just a warning for people playing vengeance paladin and decide to get this, it will trigger the oath breaker sub class, after you get the hair and talk the npc to change to oath breaker, it will remove the hair from your bags and you will lose it, so use it before you switch to oath breaker... I found this out the hard way and lost a few hours of progress, I thought I would hold onto the hair for later after I was for sure what I wanted to play and found it missing.

                          I had two quick saves one before speaking to the oath breaker and one fight after, checking between both I could confirm that it causes you to lose the hair.

                            Possible bug: The hag hair consumable item seems to disappear if you go into act 2, so use it before. No hard confirmation since my quicksaves are long gone but I had it in my gith creche saves but not in my very first act 2 save which was the campfire right before going into act 2 (through mountains, idk if the bug can be replicated if you go through the depths first).

                            • Anonymous

                              I haven't confirmed this by testing (I'm much further ahead in the game by now), but it's possible the hair can get consumed when long resting and hitting 'auto select' for which supply items to use. In any case, it disappeared from my camp inventory at some point, so either be very deliberate of where you put it or use it ASAP.
