Underrated. 2nd best shield in the game, and you can get it in act 1. You dont get the best shield till act 3. Its the only shield with crit immunity. Note that it send them reeling when they MISS a melee, unlike the armor which does so when they HIT. Its particularly good with high AC or Radiating Orb build. I run cleric with luminous gloves, luminous armor, and holy lance helm. Everytime an enemy misses, they get stacks of orbs plus get sent reeling if they melee. So one miss will chain into other misses. Or you can just run through a pack of enemies with spirit guardians up to immediately give them all max stacks (10) when they're bunched together.

Just tested, and with enough AC, a 20 is no longer a guaranteed hit while using this shield (or any other source of crit immunity, I presume.)

This is amazing on an Eagle Heart barbarian. When raging enemies have disadvantage on opportunity attacks against you. Use your movement to run past as many enemies as possible and debuff them all.

Best choice for act 3 with armor for act 1 and 2.
26 AC + 22 Strength at the forge and 30 AC + 26 Strength is my goal for act 3.

This is the best option, if only because the other armors have graphical issues.

I assume this is the best choice as there are likely to be better weapons but probably not many good shields, and this comment section is proving my hunch right

Soooo, hear me out:
Lazael with some +1 scale mail has a 16base AC +2from dex +2 from the shield of faith from Shadowheart amd +2 from wearing this shield.
So thats a 22 base AC
Also i got gloves that give me +1 AC so we are up to 23 base.
Should someone hit her, then she can cast the Shield spell as a reaction for 28AC (one turn) and if the attacker misses her, he gets a -2 to attack roles giving her a theoretical AC of 30. At lvl 6
Tbh that sounds like a fun frontline build

Too bad the shield + Armor have mostly redundant stats, would be cool to double up on them with one character.

is the shield bash reaction not working for anyone else? put this shield on shadowheart and it doesnt ever proc

All adamantine stuff is **** considering the length and sheer tediousness of the quest itself. A ****ing invulnerable golem that can only be defeated by a convoluted mechanic? Lol. Meanwhile +1 items are better and can be bought on the cheap at the very first vendor you meet.

I dont get why this gives a +2 to AC while the easier to obtain sparky wall gives a +3
