The Shield Mold is a material  and item in Baldur's Gate 3 . Consuming certain  items  can provide various effects, such as enhancing a character or restoring health, while others can be used to interact with the environment or provide  knowledge  about  the world of Baldur's Gate 3  .

Can be used to shape a unique piece of equipment. The die appears to be tailor-made for a particular forge.

Although the mold looks heavy, the shield it outlines appears stronger.

Shield mold information

Can be used in  an Adamantite Forge to craft  an Adamantite Shield . You will also need Mithril Ore to craft it.

Masking mold locations and where to find them

• Location: Grimm Furnace  (X:-559 Y:410)
• Dropped by: Skeletons at the top of the stairs in the dormitory (same room leading to Meregon Legionnaires)
• This room is reached through a passageway behind the rubble, where the Durga can be seen whipping Rot.
• After clearing the rubble and crossing the long bridge with traps, take the ladder left to the first set of levers that move the platforms needed to access the forge.
• Follow the first mobile platform all the way through the gap (don't fall onto the bridge in the middle), then pry open the gate on the other side. The skeleton with the mold will be at the very top of the interior stairs, directly across from where you entered.
