The Deathstalker Mantle Location & How to Get in BG3

  • Location: If you choose the background of Dark Urge, and make friend with Alfira, then on the next long rest she (or the Dragonborn bard Quil if you already killed/Knocked out Alfira) will come to your camp and ask you to join you, if you agree, then the character will kill her during sleep, and on one of the next long rests an NPC will come to you and give a cloak.

For some reason when you throw a weapon and it returns to your hand it breaks invisibility. It could be a bug. Does anyone know how to solve it?

It's sad that the only dragonborn you find in act 1-2 (apart MC of course) is only with the dark urge origin, only if alfira is unconscious and she dies automatically. She would have been a nice addition to your party to cover both class (bard) and race (dragonborn) that are missing :(

There is a bug with melee kill with this cloak. I was clearing the Kobold Looters in the Mountain-Pass church. If I stealth melee, I'll be visually invisible, but the buff is actually lost. So, the enemy will immediately spot and target me while remain invisible visually. "Invisiblity lost" can be seen in log during combat. However, with a bow, I can safely kill all of them while they run around searching for me. I've tested with dualwielding, onehanded, twohanded, and monk's flurry; none seems to work. Crossbowbow, hand crossbows, throw weapons (tavern brawler), and spells seem to work correctly. Also, if "cull the weak" from Illithid Power triggers, it will break invisibility, so u might consider turn that off. v4.1.1.3767641

          Tldr, don't melee with it.

doesn't proc invisibility when you kill someone with cull the weak passive from your illithid power. maybe just a bug

Synergizes very well with Warlocks that have The Fiend as patrons, as you're already have incentive to finish off enemies.
The Eldrich Blasts' multiple beams still count as one attack so finding a weak enemy to kill and proc invisibility is easy. Then you have 2 turns to get in range (should you want to) and murderize everything with serious advantage. Carefully picking your targets can allow you to spend whole fights invisible

some reason the invis dont trigger reliably on kill, playing as warlock + sorc. this a bug or does it have to be weapon attack only?

                • Anonymous

Pretty much useless. You get locked out of using reactions while invisible, and the moment an enemy gets a turn they just use a generic detect spell that they all have for some reason and clear your invis. So in other words, it does nothing positive and effectively debuffs you.

I will not share the "proper" name of the item ID as it shares a HUGE spoil and you guess it, it is not "The Deathstalker Mantle". Anyway, here is the code.

I dont think you have to be friends with alfira for her to appear in your camp because I literally smashed her instrument in front of her

                        **SPOILERS**
I found out if you let a party member kill you before starting the "murder" sleep sequence, Alfira (or the Dragonborn bard Quil, depending on your previous actions) will instead get killed by that goblin butler. Then, after you resurrect your player character and take another long rest, the butler will visit you and bemoan that you didn't "take the bait". And, most importantly...he doesn't give you the cloak. So the only way to get it is by doing the murdering yourself.

If the Mantle makes you invisible there is a mark on the Dummy that is left behint for going stealth. Any information ?

What are the other special Dark Urge items, beside the cloak? I've read that you can also get a ring, does anyone know the name of that item and / or any other special gifts you can receive?

PSA: You dont have to kill Alfira, if you long rest and get the scene just reload to before and go punch Alfira with non lethal on until she's unconscious. Then when you long rest the scene happens with a new bard Quill Grootslang (who as soon as she sings you realize the murder is doing her a favor). You then later get the cloak and Alfira is safe and sound. Do mind she might hate you for attacking her so attack her with only characters you dont plan on talking to her with, like Lae'zel who hates everyone anyway
