Cloak of Cunning Brume is an uncommon cloak, that creates a cloud when the wearer disengages from combat. Cloaks can be equipped to a character's back in their designated inventory slot and provide different effects ranging from increased Saving Throws, to gaining Advantage on certain attacks.

AnonymousGloomstalker Ranger/Rogue Thief multiclass, ranged attacks are so fun and OP when they just stand there. Hint: you can move slightly and activate this cloak and it will connect to the previous cloud. Makes for fun times, Jolt Shooter and the Spark Boots make this even more fun.

the vendor for this in act 2 (tiefling kid) will not be present if you do not speak with an npc called Rolan all the way from act 1 in the grove. spent ~10 hrs of gameplay finding this vendor. introvert tav run comes with very dire consequences.

This is really really good. Thief 2 or 3 make this gold for stealth characters

This is the most amazing item in the game. I use it on my Rogue to force disadvantage / blindness on enemies. I position myself, so that my allies will be out of the cloud before I pop it. There's also no once per turn limit on it, so you can create as many as you have actions / bonus actions. Combined with the Eversight Ring, as another user said, it's a thing of beauty. My Rogue is my absolute favorite character now.

This with the eversight ring and rogue/thief is pretty nasty in solo. Spam disengage as bonus action for the fog cloud. Eversight ring grants you immunity to blindness so you can always make your attacks in/out fog clouds. The fog cloud will heavily obscure so you are always completely hidden when you use your second bonus action to hide at the end of the turn. This causes all enemies to stand idle and waste all their turns, then just rinse and repeat. Disengage for cloud, attack in cloud, hide in cloud.
Most here have talked about combat utility which is great, but you can go TBM and use disengage around vendors so you can pickpocket without using spell fogs or illusion spells. Tbm, disengage, hide to prompt pickpocket option, do your rogue things
