Does the Blooming Drow Head do anything? It is orange like other quest items.

This was dumb. I pretty much exploded him with prison + a hasted paladin. Didnt drop the head. If it is a quest item, it should be available regardless. Ill have to kill him gently and reload my game

Did anyone try to give his head to the friendly Mindflayer in the mushroom colony? I already made it bloom, but he had a line like "Now I only feast from the heads of evil people".
Would love to know.

I killed Nere before I talked to the mushroom king, and was annoyed when I later got this quest. But when I went back to Nere I noticed that he wasn't actually dead, but "knocked out" with 1 HP, still laying there.
I had to manually attack his prone body to trigger the cutscene with the option to chop off his head and was able to complete the mission.

I found a way to repair Nere's mutilated corpse!
If you got the mission "Deliver Nere's Head". Do not loot the corpse, or the mission will complete as you failed to get the head.
1. Let Karlach (or anyone strong enough) pick up the body and get back to the Underdark.
2. Teamed up Gult, and use "Animating spores" on Nere's corpse.
3. Kill the animated Nere clean.
Now you can speak to his corpse, and remove his head.
I suppose this trick can fix any dead NPC if you accidentally mutilated.

humorously, also disables Speak To Dead with the corpse after taking. not sure if he has anything good to say

I killed him by Shadowheart's scared flame and his corpse got burnt, and can no longer take his head...
I even let Karlach carry Nere's whole body back, but the NPC just won't recognize it. No reward.

it tells me to go to the overgrown tunnel at the hags place, expect hes locked in a room that is apparently un-openable from the moment im typing this.

I pushed him back into the poison and killed him with a bunch of ranged attacks, but I couldn't loot his head. Karlach could pick up his whole-ass body, but I couldn't take just his head. Extremely frustrating.

I killed him prior to getting quest also. So when I killed him no head dropped.
I took the body back to Spaw, placed body on the floor and used Karlack to loot, This gave me the option to remove the head with a 10 str check.
